We Loved Moss Ledge!

5 of 5
My husband and I stayed at Moss Ledge this past week for a hiking/get-away vacation. From the start, Deb was extremely helpful in answering questions. The cottage was EXTREMELY clean and well equipped with everything we needed for a weeks stay. The location was fantastic as it was very close to Acadia where we hiked everyday and also very close to Bar Harbor. The short walk to the bottom of the street brought you to a beautiful view of Frenchman's Bay. One thing we noticed was how quiet the area was. Although it was on a street full of homes, it was so very quiet. Moss Ledge was truly a home away from home. After a long day of hiking the mountains, it was most pleasant to have this place to come back to. This is our fourth time in Maine/Acadia area but the first time at Moss Ledge. Definitely this has been our best stay yet. We totally recommend this cottage and we hope to return and stay again. We think you will love it just like we did. Stop in the Chart Room for a great dinner! And of course shopping in Bar Harbor can't be beat.

Cozy Cottage Stay on our Visit to Maine

4 of 5
I am shocked that this cottage has no reviews online. The guest book at the cottage is full of raving reviews about their time spent at this cottage. Our experience was no different. I wanted our visit to Maine as a family to be reflective of the natural beauty we would experience. When I saw Blueberry Cottage and Blackberry Cottage (the one two houses down), I knew this was the place we should stay. We found it to be exactly as pictured --warm, inviting, and clean. My kids loved picking wild blueberries in the nearby field for our morning pancakes, chasing butterflies and fireflies, and enjoying the surroundings. We enjoyed unplugging while eating meals on the porch, reading, and just relaxing. The cottage wasn't that far from Acadia National Park/Bar Harbor and we it was great to return to the cottage each night after our adventures.

Best Vacation Ever!

5 of 5
Even after a week, I didn't want to leave! We loved the cottage, and Mount Desert Island in general. The cottage was decorated just as one would expect a quaint cottage to be. It is brand new, clean, and beautiful, inside and out. Anything a person could want was there-to books, games, DVDs, mosquito repelling candles, bandaids, lobster utensils, wine bottle toppers, coasters. I could go on and on-really-they had everything! The kitchen was beautiful and included a gas range, microhood, toaster oven, coffee maker, and electric kettle. The cabinets were stocked with high quality pots, pans, utensils, and glassware-even wine and shot glasses! They provided extra towels, sheets, and blankets. The bed was comfy too. While we were there, it got really hot. There were fans to help cool things down. There’s no cable, but there is a small TV/DVD combo and WIFI, so we took our laptop and watched a few TV shows on it. There’s also no cell phone reception, but there is a landline phone. (I loved being unavailable anyway!) Not only was the inside incredible, but so was the outside. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck listening to the call of the loons. We also had dinners outside, taking advantage of the nice grill they provided. A two-minute walk got us to the kayak/canoe rental place and the swimming area. After a hot day of hikes or sightseeing, a refreshing swim in the cool pond was in order! The real estate company who handles this rental was a dream to deal with. Everything was handled in a timely, professional manner. Paula also gave us helpful tips on activities to do. Having someone care about the quality of our vacation added to how truly happy we were with our trip. The cottage was close to Southwest Harbor, and we had a few great meals at Sea Biscuits, Fiddler’s Green, and Red Sky. Hiking, kayaking, and swimming were fun. The Ship Harbor hiking trail was breathtaking, and the Beehive was tops. Once we got up and over the top, we took a much-deserved swim in The Bowl. Watching the sunrise on Cadillac Mountain was also something I will never forget. I have taken many vacations, and this goes down as my favorite. I have not one negative thing to say about Mount Desert Island or the cottage. Pond Hill Cottage gets a 10 out of 10. Rent it. You won’t be disappointed!
