We had a perfect vacation in this lovely home. Bar Harbor is such a beautiful place to visit. The house is clean, spacious, and just about everything you need in a house is there, from linens to paper towels. The third floor is especially nice - the one bedroom is very sunny with a sitting area and a wonderful new bathroom. The grocery store is just around the corner. You do not need to drive once you get there - the Village Green buses take you most anywhere on the island. This was our third visit to Acadia National Park. We enjoy the hiking, biking, beautiful views - Shore Trail is my favorite place to walk early morning or early evening. There are so many wonderful restaurants to choose from. Shopping, kayaking, boating. Something for everyone. This is our favorite home so far on the island. We would definitely stay here again.

My family and I loved this cottage. It was a quick walk to town, and situated in a very quiet neighborhood. My kids loved all the extras in the house- books, movies, games and puzzles. We were really able to relax and it felt like home!

I rented this cabin for myself, my partner, and my parents last fall. It was everything I expected and more. In real life, I thought this home was even more spacious than suggested by the photos (previously I have experienced the opposite). It was very clean and comfortable in every way. We were especially pleased with the kitchen, which really did have EVERYTHING you could possibly need and also had top of the line appliances like a Kitchen Aid mixer and a Cuisinart coffee pot. My dad loved the latter so much that we bought him one for Christmas. :) The living furniture and beds were also comfortable. Note: The bathroom is on the 1st floor and the bedrooms are upstairs... not a problem for most, but my mom has some mobility issues and gets up to use the restroom during the night. She said it was a little tricky to navigate the staircase when she had to get up during the night. However, she is the kind of person who had to find something to complain about since I was the one who chose the rental. ;) Downtown and the Acadia shuttles (which are free and will take you anywhere in the park - unless there is a government shutdown, LOL) truly are an easy walk away - everyone in my family (even my mom) was up for walking downtown for drinks, ice cream, and shopping at least once a day but usually 2 or 3 times! Parking in the lot across the street was safe and convenient and the owner has a book with lots of cool recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing. My favorite that we hadn't heard anywhere else was walking from Bar Harbor to Bar Island on the sand bar during low tide - what a cool, off-the-beaten-path experience! I would stay here again in a heartbeat. This was my first time renting a cottage & I was a little nervous about the steep security deposit, but FYI it was returned in full promptly after we returned home. So, no worries there. :) The rates for this cottage were very fair, and the woman I dealt with in renting this cottage was super professional. I would recommend this cottage to anyone visiting Bar Harbor/Acadia.
