Just Perfect...

5 of 5
This house was really the way to go for our family. We had looked into hotels, but found the idea of a house to ourselves, where our small kids could sleep undisturbed and our dog could come along, to be the better option for us. We were right. The kitchen is fully equipped, and there was plenty of room for everyone. Thankfully there was shampoo and conditioner in each of the three shower/baths because I had forgotten to pack it! There is a hair dryer there too. Thought I'd mention because we didn't see that listed on the description and had packed one just in case. The house was immaculate and cozy. Just what we were looking for. I would absolutely recommend this home rental based on the house and the fantastic communication. It made renting this gem easy.

Great Stay!

5 of 5
We have been to MDI many times and love SW Harbor, but this was our first stay at Central House. What a treat! The house was plenty big for us and our 4 kids, and could have easily accommodated more people. There was ample parking in the back for both of our vehicles. The kitchen was very well-stocked with every kind of cookware we could have wanted, as well as spices, flour, tea, microwave popcorn, soup, and more. The kitchen sink and dishwashers are ultra-modern/professional grade. We greatly appreciated the washer and dryers in the basement, as well as the fact that there was laundry detergent and fabric softener. Everyone loved the showers.. each of which had 3 shower heads.. very luxurious. The upstairs apartment was incredible. While we did not make full use of that space (did not use the kitchen, for example), it would have worked perfectly if we had brought another family on vacation with us. The router for the wireless internet was located on the third floor, which made the connection great if you were on the 3rd or 2nd floor.. not always so great on the first. This might be remedied by moving the router to the 2nd floor? We also enjoyed sitting out on the porch. The location is great if you like to be in town.. we were able to let the kids walk down to the playground unattended, walk to our favorite restaurants, walk the dog to the emergency vet, get to the downtown shops within minutes, etc. We also enjoyed walking to the homemade jam/bread stand.. the kids ate about 2 loaves of homemade bread per day! If you are looking for a super-quiet, remote rental, this may not be the house for you.. while the traffic (car and foot) was moderate, it was fairly consistent. Overall a very pleasant stay, and we would recommend Central House without hesitation.

Eagle Cliff

5 of 5
Our week at Eagle Cliff went by WAY too fast. The house was charming, spacious, fantastically equipped, cozy and very comfortable. The views from almost every window were breathtaking. Enjoying that first cup of coffee on the deck each morning, watching the lobster boats going about their business and listening to the birds call was a slice of heaven and the perfect start to every day. We were enchanted with the wildlife that browsed right outside the kitchen windows. As a family, we enjoyed working on the many jigsaw puzzles that were provided for rainy evenings. A thouroughly delightful week and one we will long remember and cherish. Deb & Ron
