We had a fabulous week at the cottage with our two young kids. A great place to rest and enjoy Bailey Island.

Charming and relaxing

5 of 5
We stayed in Nezinscott for a week with our daughters ages 16 months and 4 years. It was a dream. George and Debbie were very thoughtful and especially accommodating of our children's needs. The girls' favorite toys were the nets to catch insects and crabs in, play law mowers to push around and the slide. My husband and I loved the wraparound porch and the views it provided. We had many excellent meals at Morse's Grille and also enjoyed adventures to Popham beach and the Puffin watch tour. The ice cream at Tiffins was the delicious creamy soft-serve (as well as hard-packed). We enjoyed several treats there. We tend to go to new places for vacations but we could definitely imagine returning here some day.

Idyllic Island Spot for a Restful Vacation

5 of 5
Home Port is just a perfect spot if you want to enjoy Bailey Island. The house is in a great location, with all of Mackerel Bay with a public beach in front and a small private beach in the back. We loved watching the goings-on in the harbor and then going to the back beach to watch the sunset. You will find all the comforts of home here, including washer-dryer and dishwasher, which we appreciated so we didn't have to do laundry when we got home. The upstairs master leads out onto your own private deck, which was a prime evening cocktail spot. There is a constant breeze, and even a ceiling fan upstairs so we were never uncomfortable. There is a big TV downstairs but no DVD player. The upstairs master does have a TV with DVD built in. The kitchen is roomy with a great gas stove and all the gadgets you will need. We found the house to be so beautifully filled with light - lots of windows and minimal window treatments were a plus. We plan to visit again and highly recommend Home Port.
