This cottage was a wonderful, rustic, and quiet place to stay in the early summer season. Not a sound to be heard but the waves, loons, gulls and wild turkeys (and little turkey chicks, too) and an occasional putt putt of a lobster boat. This is a fun place for birding, walking, resting, working, and recharging. The owners are wonderful and close at hand, and the woodstove works. It is a lovely place to get some writing done, to see the sights and get some walking in. The water's edge is just down a flight of stairs, and sights like Giant's Staircase and the Land's end beach are a fairly short walk away. The Bailey Island General Store, Giant Stairs Cafe, the Lands' End Gift Shop, and a super-cute gift shop, Seaside Creations, are within walking distance. No need to drive. The best part is that there is a lovely water view from nearly every room in the house. Lovely, lovely location. The porch was my favorite place to get some work done. Those new Adirondack chairs are comfortable, the WIFi works perfectly. There is an outdoor outlet right on the porch. The view from this porch is lovely. This is an amazing value, and is only about an hour from Portland. I can see why there are so many repeat customers. A true gem. Super super place. Not fancy, but simply beautiful.
