Romantic week in the cottage

5 of 5
My boyfriend (now fiancée - thanks to this romantic vacation!) and I spent a wonderful week at the cottage. It is the perfect size and location for two people looking for a romantic getaway. It is only a 5 minute drive to downtown Bar Harbor, and the distance makes it feel a bit more private and less touristy. The property was very clean and well maintained, and the bed was firm but very comfortable. Sheridy was extremely responsive to all of our questions. Having a washer-dryer was wonderful, and the hot water and water pressure were very reliable. We had a wonderful dinner at the Burning Tree Restaurant, which is within walking distance. We were able to walk to the head of the Cadillac Mountain South Ridge Trail, and take the shuttle bus to several other hiking locations. We enjoyed the fact that there was Wifi but no cell phone reception - it's nice being able to choose when to connect to the outside world ;) (And Sheridy allows free use of the land line). Also, the grill and the little fire pit in the backyard were a wonderful perk! I would absolutely recommend the Cottage to anyone looking for a simple, comfortable escape. We hope we can come back again in the future!

Sunrise, Sunsets, and a little Piece of Paradise

5 of 5
My family visited Maine for the first time this past June, and through the internet, found this cottage. First and foremost, we were looking for a handicap accessible cottage by water. My daughter is still talking about what a wonderful experience it was and how at home she felt particularly using the accessible bathroom----it was the first bath she had taken in a very long time because of the accessible tub! My husband kept walking around saying-----" how did you find this place? He is an avid hunter and a fisherman and thought he had driven straight to heaven particularly as he gazed out over Frenchman's Bay. The cottage was new and modern with all the comforts of home. Needless to say my family felt as if they had found a little piece of paradise thanks to the host family. One of the things we asked from the family was a list of “must do’s” in Maine. We accomplished each one and were so thankful they took the time to assist us. Many evenings my family of four actually opted to stay at the cottage where we watched the sun set over Frenchman’s Bay and did what every family should do on vacation----we talked, played cards, and truly enjoyed each other and the serenity our home provided. Thank you, Host Family, for everything you did to make our vacation to Maine extraordinary
