Lovely, peacful, good vibe house!

5 of 5
The house is in a beautiful setting at the end of a private road and yet it was close to all we love in Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor. The house was clean and well equiped but my favorite part may have been all the beautiful windows -- the fresh Maine air travels through the house. The back porch is a perfect place for morning coffee and a quiet dinner. Our hostess was thoughtful and attentive -- we will be back for more of the tranquility this home offers.

Hillcrest Cottage

5 of 5
We recently spent a week in Robyn and Jim Simon's lovely Hillcrest Cottage in Southwest Harbor, Maine. Their home is situated on a secluded, peaceful property. All the linens, towels, dishes, pots and pans that you could possibly need are provided. There is even a lobster pot for those adventurous enough to cook their own. Don't let the unfinished second floor scare you away. There were six of us, and we had PLENTY of room to spread out and relax! Mount Desert Island is the home to Acadia National Park, a nature wonderland. Everywhere you look is a 'Kodack moment'! There is SO much to do - hiking biking and swimming. And, after a day of satisfying exercise, you can relax at night by strolling in Bar Harbor, eating a delicious homemade ice cream cone and looking at all of the interesting shops. A trip to Mount Desert Island is a must for everyone, and what better place to stay than Hillcrest Cottage!
