A peaceful secluded getaway thats close to everything!

5 of 5
Had an amazing week away from it all at this beautiful above garage apartment. We were greeted with views of deer, hawks and song birds from the picture window in the living room looking over wild flowers into the pine forest. A quick drive puts you right into the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. Lounging outside on the lawn, hiking on the property and using the ping pong table provided a balanced way to spend our time at the cottage. The kitchen was stocked with everything from a hand mixer, coffee grinder and even a french press. There was plenty of space to store our sea touring kayaks and bicycles outside securely. Philip and Astri were respectful of our space and friendly neighbors. Their knowledge of the island was very helpful when planning our daily excursions. We look forward to our next island visit!

Great central location for anybody wanting to walk into Bar Harbor. Terrific rooms with lots of space to spread out. Quiet. Close to a little playground. Nina and Tom are terrific to work with (this is our second year renting from them) and we look forward to coming back soon!

Wonderful Setting for Exploring and Creativity

5 of 5
This was the perfect place to stay for exploring the Acadia region and for our creative outlets - writing and photography. The grounds and view of Frenchman's Bay were lovely - I spent early mornings out by the gardens reading and journaling while looking out at the Bay. The living space was perfect for us - clean accomodations, lovely artwork of Vicki's and a kitchen area perfect for the meal preparation I needed to do for my son who has food allergies. We didn't have a set schedule as to what to do and Vicki had terrific suggestions - exploring the Schoodic penninsula, kayaking in Frenchman's Bay and visiting art galleries on a rainy day. We loved being in quiet area but still being close enough to visit Mount Desert Island. I would definitely recommend staying at Vicki's for those who want to explore the area and be surrounded by serene, beautiful, creativity-inspiring surroundings.
