              Exceptional Gem Exceeds all Expectations!

              5 of 5
We've rented dozens of vacation homes in the past but this delightful cottage with its friendly, knowledgeable, hosts surpassed anything we've experienced. The photos do not reflect the overall beauty of this uniquely designed cottage with the rich wood interior, large living-room windows framing the natural beauty of the Maine woods, cozy naturally lit personal spaces as well as a surprisingly spacious layout. Furniture and beds were very comfortable and the cottage was clean, included a coffee/tea making nook and a kitchen that was so well stocked it would warm the heart of anyone who enjoys cooking. Our hosts, Astri and Phil were warm, welcoming and extremely knowledgeable about the entire area. Their information sheet in the cottage was particularly helpful providing thoughtful recommendations for activities for things to do at many ability levels, wonderful places to eat and places with amazing views. As world travelers themselves, Astri and Phil understand the needs of their visitors and provided just the right amount of availability and privacy. The cottage is perfectly located just minutes from Acadia National Park, and Bar Harbor, allowing us easy access to both the Park and downtown. In the morning we enjoyed easy access to the Park to watch the seals playing at Otter Cliffs, walking a carriage road, or cooling off at Echo Lake. Then off to a delicious lunch with a great view at Thurston's, ending our day strolling the Shore Path in Bar Harbor and stopping by the Balance Rock for a drink by the ocean. What a great week! The only thing we didn't enjoy was leaving this perfect cottage with its wonderful hosts. Looking forward to coming back next year!

Great central location for anybody wanting to walk into Bar Harbor. Terrific rooms with lots of space to spread out. Quiet. Close to a little playground. Nina and Tom are terrific to work with (this is our second year renting from them) and we look forward to coming back soon!

Wonderful Setting for Exploring and Creativity

              5 of 5
This was the perfect place to stay for exploring the Acadia region and for our creative outlets - writing and photography. The grounds and view of Frenchman's Bay were lovely - I spent early mornings out by the gardens reading and journaling while looking out at the Bay. The living space was perfect for us - clean accomodations, lovely artwork of Vicki's and a kitchen area perfect for the meal preparation I needed to do for my son who has food allergies. We didn't have a set schedule as to what to do and Vicki had terrific suggestions - exploring the Schoodic penninsula, kayaking in Frenchman's Bay and visiting art galleries on a rainy day. We loved being in quiet area but still being close enough to visit Mount Desert Island. I would definitely recommend staying at Vicki's for those who want to explore the area and be surrounded by serene, beautiful, creativity-inspiring surroundings.
