Charming studio in beautiful location

4 of 5
This was the perfect spot to relax and unwind after a day of hiking at Acadia National Park. Ideal for a couple or small family seeking simple accommodations, the carriage house is tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. We loved the sleeping loft, quaint bathroom and wonderful cool air let in by all the windows and skylights. Best of all was the picturesque setting on a quiet road amidst farms. We would definitely return again and rent this property.

Quiet but not far from the action

5 of 5
The house is well set up for 3 couples. It was clean and well supplied with everything we needed. Bar Harbor and Acadia are a short drive away. There's a nice general store less than a mile away and the free bus stops there too. We spent more time on the quiet side of Mt. Desert Island and all of those sites were easy to get to also. This house was perfect for what we wanted to do, which was get up and have coffee and breakfast then spend the days hiking and sight-seeing and swimming. Come home and clean up and go out for a meal or fix our own meal at home. This house was perfect for our group and a great value. Janice was very easy to communicate with also.

Romantic week in the cottage

5 of 5
My boyfriend (now fiancée - thanks to this romantic vacation!) and I spent a wonderful week at the cottage. It is the perfect size and location for two people looking for a romantic getaway. It is only a 5 minute drive to downtown Bar Harbor, and the distance makes it feel a bit more private and less touristy. The property was very clean and well maintained, and the bed was firm but very comfortable. Sheridy was extremely responsive to all of our questions. Having a washer-dryer was wonderful, and the hot water and water pressure were very reliable. We had a wonderful dinner at the Burning Tree Restaurant, which is within walking distance. We were able to walk to the head of the Cadillac Mountain South Ridge Trail, and take the shuttle bus to several other hiking locations. We enjoyed the fact that there was Wifi but no cell phone reception - it's nice being able to choose when to connect to the outside world ;) (And Sheridy allows free use of the land line). Also, the grill and the little fire pit in the backyard were a wonderful perk! I would absolutely recommend the Cottage to anyone looking for a simple, comfortable escape. We hope we can come back again in the future!
