Excellent

5 of 5
Our stay was fantastic! The house is spacious and very well equipped and the location is great. Everything was very clean and well taken care off. Very useful information was available in the house helping us to plan our stay. The location right on the beach is fantastic. We enjoyed beach walks, watching Osprey’s hunt fish and the perfect view of Mount Dessert Island. The kids had a lot of fun sitting around a fire on the beach at night. We can highly recommend this property.

6 star view, 4 star property with 5 star potential

4 of 5
Ella's was the 6th or 7th luxury Home Away rental we've been in (all in different parts of the U.S.). Because of this, we are very picky, probably more so than most. I'm guessing most people would and do give Ella's a 5 star review and it comes close, but there are a few things for us that made it a 4. First...the many pros. Awesome view and property!! Lots of games, DVDs, kayaks are a real plus. Nice open floor plan for family and entertaining. Loved two beds on 1st floor and two on 2nd. Would be good for two families sharing. So nice to have laundry onsite given we traveled with a toddler. Did I mention the view?! Well stocked kitchen, we cooked most nights Enough toilet paper, hand soap, dish detergent, etc. that we didn't have to buy; much appreciated. Nicely decorated Cons for us Dining room chairs have no backs. Very hard with toddler. Poor lighting in dining and living rooms, hard to read at night (which we like to do to relax) Clean where it mattered, but not as clean under sinks, couches, beds as we are used to. Note again we have a toddler so we spend a lot of time on floor and hunting for toys. No stand up shower in master bath/had to shower in hall bath. If the first three things were changed this would easily be 5 stars! Or, if you don't care about those things.

A++ right on ocean yet near everything

5 of 5
I was very pleased as was my entire family with this superb property. It had everything, the ocean, kayaking, a beach, barbecue area, lobster bakes, hiking, nature and was much better than the other spot we stayed in the year before as this was private yet near all the terrific Acadia attractions where as the spot we had in Bar Harbor was crowded and stressful to get around-felt like I had been in Coney Island not Maine-this special property was true Maine and true luxury too. The Lobsterfest in town is amazing also so we are planning our trip to enjoy that next year. We also loved the shops, classical music center antiques shops, galleries, theatre and restaurants here. The property was also immaculately clean and beautifully appointed..my bed was so cozy I could sleep all day and I loved having such an elegant kitchen. My only complaint is I could not stay longer!
