Planning a Return Visit Already

5 of 5
We rented this whole house including the 1-bdrm and 2-bdrm suites for a one-week workshop and we will book it again. When you are reserving a space like this sight unseen and having paying clients come to stay, there is always a bit of apprehension. While the stay was not trouble-free, I don't look for perfection but I do look for people who are good at communicating and do everything they can to work things out for their guests. I have to say Lauren, the manager, was attentive and responsive with the issues we had including coordinating various arrival dates into the different spaces we had booked. The biggest issue we had was with the heating during what was by all accounts, a very cold spell in NOLA. The main part of the house could not heat up beyond 57 degrees F and we had to supplement it with plug-in heaters which we did not know were hidden in the closet until we had spent one night in freezing temperatures. There are also wall air-conditioning units that can be used as heaters. Once we got those working, the house heated up nicely. The other issue is with the door key codes. There was a mix-up with the codes in the communications and also once we were there but it was all sorted out very quickly. The pictures do not do justice to the space. This is a grand house with a sweeping staircase and elegant main rooms that have been tastefully decorated. It was a very comfortable space for a group of people and a well-equipped kitchen that was sadly under used but not next time. The dining room had a large table which was perfect for group discussions and the living room had comfortable seating for more intimate conversations. The bedrooms were all comfortable especially the main bedroom off the living room which was palatial in size and decor. It has its own private bathroom. The second bedroom at the end of the hallway was cozy and more private. The third bedroom was also at the end of the main hallway and there was a living room space which has a sofa bed. The sofa bed could do with an upgrade to one with a proper mattress but it is fine for kids. There was no floor plan and I didn't realize you have to walk through this space to get to the third bedroom. If you are booking for a workshop like I was, it would have been good to know this. I booked the entire house and will leave a review on the other two spaces if you are interested in hearing about them too. Thanks Lauren for your help. Look forward to seeing you again!

Cozy apartment just right for us

We rented this whole house including the 1-bdrm and 2-bdrm suites for a one-week workshop and we will book it again. When you are reserving a space like this for the first time and having paying clients come to stay, there is always a bit of apprehension. While the stay was not trouble-free, I don't look for perfection but I do look for people who are good at communicating and do everything they can to work things out for their guests. I have to say Lauren, the manager, was attentive and responsive with some of the issues we had including coordinating various arrival dates into the different spaces we had booked. The biggest issue we had was with the heating during what was by all accounts, a very cold spell in NOLA. In this space, the heating was much better than the main house. I did have to use an additional baseboard heater in the bedroom that faced the street. There is a door and window which made it quite drafty but once the extra heater was plugged in, the room was perfect. While we were there, the unit opposite us was being renovated. Luckily we were out during the day so the noise was not an issue for us but it is something I would have liked to have been made aware of at the time I booked. This 2-bdrm is a very cozy space with comfortable beds and it has a sofa bed in the living room so you can squeeze more people in there if you really need to. The real surprise in this apartment was the shower. Talk about luxury. It is the kind of shower you find in ritzy hotels and I loved waking up every morning knowing I'd be in for a treat to start my day. The kitchen is small but you really don't need anything bigger as you are probably eating out more of the time. For breakfast before you head out, it's perfect. I booked the entire house and will leave a review on the other two spaces if you are interested. Thanks Lauren for all your help. See you again!

Fantastic Home!

5 of 5
On a whim we decided that we would travel to New Orleans for our Anniversary/Birthday trip. We knew nothing of the area or how the city layout was but we came across this house on the listings and it looked beautiful so we went ahead and booked it. The pictures do not do the home justice, its huge inside and very clean and updated. The location of the home turns out to be less than a few miles from downtown and the French quarter by car. It took us only a couple minutes each day to get into town and enjoy all the restaurant’s, stores, and sights. We even managed to catch the Jazz and Gumbo Festival! The neighborhood is well maintained and quiet and having a driveway to park in was great! Grocery stores, cafe's and shopping is also within walking distance from the home. We have rented a lot of homes over the years and have usually had to buy additional things for our stay (trash bags, toilet paper, laundry soap...etc) but the owners have thought of everything that you could need and have made it easily available. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else while we were in town and hope to stay again one day. This is your perfect vacation spot!
