We spent a week at Inverarity House and our entire group loved that we chose to stay in a home property rather than a hotel. We were just a couple blocks off the trolley line and used that for pretty much everywhere we wanted to go. The street we were on was quiet but we could easily walk to Toups Meatery for an outstanding dinner or head to several of the other restaurants nearby. The Coffee Gallery was a couple blocks further and was our go-to for breakfasts. We also need to mention that the most fabulous snowball stand, Pandora's, is two blocks away (praline cream, YUM!) and some of the best poboy sandwiches are about half a mile away from the house at Parkway Bakery. The house is beautifully appointed and very comfortable, although we really just slept there as there was so much to see and do. John and Allison are very attentive; the two things that we had a question about were immediately addressed. You are staying on the first floor of a home so you can hear people moving around upstairs (along with their absolutely adorable terrier roaming about) but we didn't think it was anything louder than you would find at most hotels. Everything was super clean and we are very picky about that. Having a fully functional laundry facility right in the house was also very convenient. And we wished we had time to cook in that fabulous kitchen! So all and all, if you are looking to stay outside the French Quarter, we think Inverarity House is a perfect location and Mid City was a wonderful neighborhood to launch your New Orleans explorations. Thank you again for a wonderful first trip to NOLA!
