Now THIS is really a home away!!

5 of 5
I went to New Orleans with 3 other gals to celebrate my birthday. Wasn't sure what to expect since we usually stay in hotels. I was so blown away by this house I will never stay anywhere else! It was not only beautifully furnished but impeccably clean and tidy. The attention to detail was second to none and the owner had anticipated anything and everything we might need, from cotton balls in the bathrooms to snacks and drinks in the pantry to baskets in the closets for our dirty clothes. There are tv's in every room, beautiful chandeliers everywhere (2 in the master bath - whoa!), and one really nice feature - although it is a shotgun house, the bathrooms all have their own entrance. It is spacious and has a nice deck in the back as well as a front porch for sitting and visiting with the neighbors. I must recommend "Tableau" for a fabulous meal. We ate here before going to La Petie Theatre to see "Under the Boardwalk" which was wonderful. For breakfast or lunch don't miss "Camellia Grill". We were so comfortable in this house that we actually stayed in two nights, watched a movie one night and played cards the other. I would definitely recommend this residence to anyone, and plan to stay again as soon as possible!!

Very nice with a couple of warts

5 of 5
First off, yes, we would choose to rent this unit again. Overall, both the building and condo were very nice and comfortable. Front door staff were friendly and helpful. It is only two blocks to the French Quarter and there are plenty of restaurants close by. The cooking tools were as good or better than most other apartment rentals. The pool was a hit with my daughters each evening. Now, for the warts: there must be a problem with the availability of some of the halogen light bulbs. They were missing in the bathroom and LED desk lamps were provided in their place. There was a TV in the bedroom but no electric outlet close enough to plug it in. Only one trash bag was provided for the kitchen (that we found). The CBD is very difficult to walk around due to building reconstruction and sidewalk closures. Also, there are a significant number of panhandlers on all the blocks. To be fair, the CBD issues are issues that all the hotels in the area suffer and are not limited to this property. So, yes, when we visit the French Quarter again, I will definitely stay here again and will consider Stay Alfred accommodations in their other cities.
