Wish I could give this place ten stars.....the only way our stay here could have been improved would be by extending our vacation time. This adorable, immaculate cottage has all amenities, and is set on beautifully maintained grounds. We spent hours in the glider on the back porch.... watching the numerous hummingbirds whizzing by, the chipping sparrow mama feeding her baby, the squirrel jumping from tree to tree, the barn reflection in the pond changing its look as the day progressed, and loving the divine quiet and simple beauty of the surroundings. Heaven. We brought some groceries and our clothes....everything else we needed was supplied. The owners, Julee and Pete, live elsewhere on the property so are handy if you need them. We found them to be exceptional people.....friendly, helpful, hardworking. We loved being able to feed apples and carrots to their sweet-tempered horses and bringing fish food to the bluegills in the pond, watching them follow us from the end of the pond to the dock where we fed them. The cottage is well-situated... private and secluded but still close enough to restaurants and activities. We would recommend The Old Town Grill in nearby London for dinner....wonderful service and excellent food. Gondolier's, also in London, has great pizza. Camp Wildcat, just up the road from cottage, provides lots of interesting info on Civil War battle fought there plus a nice little hike. We enjoyed Natural Bridge State Park, taking the skylift to top and hiking the two miles down. Rockcastle Trading Co. in nearby Livingston has to be seen to be believed.... garden store, pond, trail, and private residence on fantastically designed and maintained grounds. Kayaking down the Rockcastle River was our favorite activity away from the cottage....beautiful scenery and solitude. Just Kik-n-It Ranch supplied the kayak trip....owner Kristen Harper was wonderful. If we could have packed up this sweet cottage with its quietly gorgeous land, we would have brought them home with us in a heartbeat.
