An easy walk to everything in Louisville

5 of 5
We visited Louisville in April when fireworks were on display by the river for Thunder Over Louisville. During this time the city is an exciting place to be. This neighborhood excellent. The house is situated on a side street just off Frankfort Avenue in a very trendy and safe neighborhood. There is a wide pick of places to eat (sushi, American, brunch) and drink (Silver Dollar, Apocalypse Brew Works). And you can walk to the fireworks and river front (or Uber if feeling lazy). This last bit is especially nice since parking downtown is $40 during the show and the traffic (especially leaving) is awful. So skip it and book this place. If you like walking or biking and want to experience Louisville up close, this is a great spot to do it. Book it instead of a hotel and give yourself some room to stretch your legs, have your own kitchen, and truly experience the city. We had such a good time, we hope we'll make this an annual trip.

Great Spot for a Girls Getaway

5 of 5
This place is perfect for a small group of friends or 2 couples. It's an upstairs apartment that looks recently remodeled. Very clean and comfortable space. We absolutely loved the location right next to Transylvania University. The historic district and downtown was all within a short walk. There were plenty of bourbon bars and restaurants within a short walk as well. The transit station wasn't far either, and it only costs $1 to ride a trolly to Keeneland for the horse races. The person we worked with to line up our stay was also super helpful in offering tips for places to eat and drink. We'll definitely be back!

Fabulous hidden gem

5 of 5
One would never expect what is hidden behind this unassuming door. We spent three fabulous nights here, and our lovely host, Jim, made us feel right at home. This is just steps from anything you could want or need in downtown Lexington, yet the home itself is amazingly quiet. The amenities lacked for nothing, beautifully furnished and comfortable. If you like old homes, which we do, you will appreciate the gorgeous wood floors, tall ceilings, original molding and two foot walls. There is a rooftop deck for your morning coffee or nightcap under the stars, and even your own parking garage. What a thoroughly delightful home away from home. We highly recommend it.
