Kyoto's best kept secret!

5 of 5
I wish I could give this review six stars. This condo was PERFECT! The location and amenities were excellent! Toshi-san and Araki-san were so helpful nice, and accommodating. Arrival was very easy--Toshi-san met us at the train station and took us straight to the condo. When we got there, he gave us many great resources to make our way around town (to include maps, activities, restaurants, and closest stations). We felt very comfortable after his introduction to the condo and the city. Having the bikes available was my favorite part! They were perfect for transportation and we were thankful to have them. If we ever come back to Kyoto, we will definitely stay at this condo again! Thank you so much for everything!!

Kamo Cottage, Kyoto Japan

5 of 5
Mike and Yuko’s Kamo Cottage is ideally located for those wanting to explore Kyoto. The river view and self-contained accommodations make for a great base. Bus and subway stops are located within easy walking distance and provide easy access to the Shinkansen, local trains or the inner city. Nearby community shopping coupled with the cottage’s cooking facilities provide an easy way to keep your food bill under control while living like a native. Mike and Yuko are both knowledgeable and gracious. Both speaking English is a special bonus when looking getting around or locating a place to purchase specialty items. We would recommend the Kamo Cottage for anyone, especially adventurous travelers, looking for a quiet refuge in Kyoto.

Delightful cottage - Fantastic location

5 of 5
Shirakawa Cottage is a cosy two-room cottage in the heart of Kyoto. It's a wonderful base to explore Kyoto as the location is terrific. There's so much nearby, but it's still so peaceful at night. The walk down the little lane-way and past the "White Stream" is also a charming way to start the morning. You could even leave your guidebook at home as there are several excellent books and other information on-hand in the cottage. Rory is a friendly and very considerate host. The renovation work inside the cottage is lovely and the bed is very comfortable. It's spotlessly clean, and the neighborhood is completely safe at night. We had a lovely time staying here and recommend it highly. We hope to stay longer next time.
