A memorable Jamaican experience in a wonderful cove. Fabulous

5 of 5
This unique home on the South Island is gorgeous and has everything to offer. It is a two hour drive from the airport and well worth it if you are looking for a Jamaican experience away from tourists. It is beautifully situated in a cove were you can soak up the sun, kayak, snorkel or just chill with a good book at the waters edge. Literally. Enjoying a fresh cup of local coffee from the bedroom balcony was a wonderful way to wake up. The local fisherman who sold fresh caught lobster from his bought was a close second. The house staff looked after us so well and showed us great Jamaican hospitality. Rheama cooked local food at our request and Leary served it with a smile. The property is wonderfully landscaped and we could pick fresh figs, bananas and limes. Our teenagers loved the wifi but were most impressed by the outdoor showers overlooking the ocean. We each had our own. No tourists or buffets here just quiet countryside at the ocean. A wonderful Christmas for our family.

Family Vacation at Lime Acre

5 of 5
My family and I recently vacationed at Lime Acre from Nov 5 – 12, 2014. Our group of 10 (6 adults and 4 children) could not have asked for a better time. Everything about our vacation exceeded our expectations from the phenomenal staff, beautiful property and delicious meals prepared. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the butler (Rocky) and the rest of the Lime Acre Staff. The staff would without hesitation (and with infectious smiles) go out of their way to make us feel comfortable and to ensure we were having a fantastic time. The property itself is truly a gem. As described, it is a beautiful estate property that is full of historic charm. We were all so impressed by how hard the staff worked to maintain the large property. We can honestly say it felt like home away from home as each of the rooms are well appointed and tastefully decorated. My family and I were looking for an intimate get away and we surely got this. It was wonderful having a house all to ourselves, but it was even more exciting having a private beach and pool with various activities that kept both the kids and adults entertained. The food that Chef Winston prepared was nothing short of delicious. The authentic Jamaican dishes were always so tasty. Winston also never failed to cater to our kid’s picky palettes and always had something additional for them to enjoy. Without a doubt, the 10 of us had a trip of a life time at Lime Acre. We were spoiled for the week by the gracious staff, charming property and delectable food. In the end we were able to make many wonderful memories while we vacationed here. Thank you Lime Acre! We will definitely be returning. Wendy Lavigne and Family Ontario, Canada

Our trip to Lime Acre can be best described as a dream realized.

While I planned our family vacation about 8 months out, this is a trip that I had imagined in my mind for many years. My grandfather, who is 90 years old was born and raised in Jamaica. He left the island in his early 20's with his sites set on making a better life for himself, and he did just that. He married my grandmother and had 7 children and 17 grandchildren. While he traveled back to Jamaica several times to visit with family members he left behind, I knew that he always wanted to go back with his children/grandchildren and share his heritage with us. So, I was determined to make that happen this year. With the help of Luxury Retreats, more specifically with the help of Lyn Lindsay and Traceyann Samuels, I was able to make that happen and then some. Once I shared with them the purpose of our trip they quickly got to work to help ensure that this was a trip of a lifetime.
