                  An ethereal piece of paradise

                  5 of 5
My husband and I rented the property for a week for our family and best friends to stay in, while we also used it for our intimate destination wedding. We knew the moment we saw Norse Hill from only the photos alone that it would be the place for us to wed, however as with planning any wedding, there are many initial concerns. From the very first inquiry Kay, Al and Yvonne, all who take part in management of renting the property, were extremely helpful, insightful and quite reassuring with utmost professionalism. They took no time in responding to any questions, thoughts, or concerns we had which made us feel at ease. Kay even contacted us right up before we left just to be reassuring and see if there was anything else we needed. We arrived before our guests to see the property, and It was truly breathtaking. To be married in such a place, in such splendor, was awe inspiring; I couldn't concentrate at the moment on the business at hand. I almost felt regret that we were to be staying at a neighboring property (which we chose for privacy away from our guests although NH offers such.) The home is a bit dated, which imo only adds to the character to the very well kept property. The entire exterior and interior from the driveway to the sea is a beautiful utopia that lends itself to the cool tradewinds and fresh mountain air. I could happily spend the rest of my days there. The staff was very accommodating in providing snacks for the bridal party and vendors the day of the wedding. We also had an additional family dinner during the remainder of our stay after the wedding in which they set up the mid-century modern dining furniture out on the property. The meal was delicious and I'll never have another pineapple upside down cake like I did lest I return. ;) Yvonne helped us arrange an outing to do the down river bamboo raft tour (request BELINDAS for lunch) as well as some airport transfers at extremely reasonable rates. We were also given a property tour of the gardens by the keeper of 45 years who showed us various ferns, lillies, orchids, spices and fruits, some of which we were able to taste. The neighborhood location is very safe and secure. In the evening we would walk down the hill and back from the Bushbar (flashlight advised.) This part of Portland as a whole, as I have found on my few trips there, is quite safe. During my last stay, it really began to almost feel like home. Nobody wanted to leave, but we anticipate our return.

We stayed at Bonne Amie Villa in February during our company retreat. The experience was great from start to finish and my co-workers and myself all left refreshed and revitalized. The rooms were very comfortable and combined with the sound of the ocean gave me the best sleep ever! I enjoyed swimming to Monkey Island from the villa each morning and returning to a huge breakfast prepared by the staff. The food was really great and we had some memorable meals that were prepared from freshly caught seafood delivered to the dock at the villa on a few occasions. The area is known for good fishing so we went deep sea fishing and caught a couple of mahi mahi which also ended up on the dinner table. That's as good as it gets! Our retreats usually are held in different location but we may have to change that policy next time around.

Direct Beach front property - Wonderful Beach

                  4 of 5
We stayed for 12 nights at Cocunut Isle, it was great. The location is idea if you want a relaxing vacation. You can hear the surf all night and it is steps to the water. The beach is a beautiful, sandy beach with no sea weed or rocks. To the right of the villa is a coconut grove with no other cottages, meaning no neighbours on that side. We visited a few other beaches in the area and Long Bay was by far the better choice. The villa is spacious and the kitchen has everything you need. It could use a bit of updating in some areas but is clean and the location is ideal, for us it wasn’t a concern. Long Bay is quiet with friendly people, away from the hustle and bustle of the north side of the island. The manager, Kertis was there to help us every day, he was a fountain of information about natural foods and plants found on the lsland and how they can benefit you. He is also excellent chef, so if you don't feel like cooking or want to try some local fish, he will cook for you. Long Bay is a peaceful place to go with an excellent beach. Walk out the front door into the water in a matter of seconds. I recommend Coconut Isle Villa for anyone who is looking for just that, away from the resorts and want to learn about the real Jamaica and the wonderful people who live there. I would go back in a heartbeat. Tammie & Gord
