A wonderful Cottage

5 of 5
We had a wonderful stay in the Rental. The cottage was very clean and comfortable and the pool was so beautiful. Jennifer, Lucien, and Sandra are very kindly. They have helped us all the time and answer any quesions from us. At the evening Sandra has cooked for us. It was so delicious and we are thinking about the wonderful Meals so often. :). In summary we can say it was a wonderful holiday and we come back to Jamaica in few years. We love the attitude of life from the jamaican people. It was such a great experience. Now we we are back in Germany and we missed the beautiful weather. :) One Love Inez and Michael

The Real Jamaica!

5 of 5
After many years of traveling and living around the world before having kids, this was our first time traveling with the kids. They'd been on vacations before (i.e., Disney, all-inclusives, US vacation rentals, etc.), but this was the first time they'd travel like we used to--living like and with locals, visiting places off the beaten path, absorbing culture. Rose Apple Villa was the perfect home base for us and our trip was amazing! Our kids are 6 and 8. They loved exploring the beautiful property (my son became quite adept at climbing coconut trees...), visiting with the neighbor's pigs and bunnies, hanging out with the dogs, swimming in that massive pool! Even homework was more fun on the veranda with the fantastic view. We all fell in love with Jacquie and happily took advantage of the cooking option- she is an amazing cook! My son would take one bite of food, then run into the kitchen and hug her and tell her he loved her (which is saying a lot, because his biggest concern on this trip was "someone who couldn't cook as good as mom"). We had so much fun shopping for ingredients in the local specialty markets with her, the house was immaculate despite all the in and out we did, she did our laundry (!!) and she braided my daughter's hair so we didn't have to get it done in the market. I wish we had Jacquie at home! It was a real treat. Wayland was lovely and took care of everything we needed him to - we visited during a drought, so water deliveries were necessary (and satellite service calls because the water guys knocked the wires out). Everything was taken care of while we were out with only minor inconvenience. Kirk drove us not just to local places (i.e., grocery store, internet cafe, Chukka Adventures), but all over the island--to YS Falls, Alligator Pond (Little Ochie's is all it's cracked up to be!), Kingston, Port Antonio, even a local orphanage so we could visit and our kids could help out. He's a superb driver (those roads in the mountains are nuts!), has a killer reggae collection, answered all 10,000 questions we asked, his rates were totally reasonable and he's just a really nice guy. We sorta fell into going to Jamaica after a trip to Puerto Rico didn't work out and we all feel so lucky things ended up this way and that we found Rose Apple Villa. This was the perfect introduction to travel for our kids and we were both amazed with how much Jamaica had to offer those who wanted a true travel/culture experience as opposed to the resort stuff.

Had a Blast

5 of 5
I dont even know where to start. From the day we to the day we left, we felt welcomed and at home. I traveled over the Thanksgiving holiday with my husband, 3 daughters, sister and 2 cousins. Duncan was our driver to and from the Montego airport and was very professional and knowledgeable. Several of our flights arrived late and he waited patiently. Deano amd Lebert were also available during our stay to take us into Ocho Rios for attractions, shopping, etc. We felt always felt safe and I appreciate that both of them would go into places with us to assist us and keep is safe. Deano also took us to a great place to sample Jamaican cruisine which was very delicious! We absolutely love John and Paulette!! John made jerk chicken for us on 2 different days. Paulette make us an arrival meal consisting of curry chicken, rice and a vegetable. She also made us breakfast one morning- Akee and salt fish...everything they made were absolutely fantastic and delicious!! My husband and I had a couples massage by Leona that was GREAT and relaxing! Our vacation pets: Georgie and Ringo were awesome! They greeted us every morning and anytime we would come back to the villa from an attraction. We felt safe with them. They loved my girls and my girls loved them. It was funny as my daughters found themselves really missing Georgie and Ringo and stated so when we arrived at Montego airport. I cannot thank Mia enough for making our vacation the best by assisting us with planning from arrival to departure. Finally, I really enjoyed listening to the sounds of the ocean waves at night and early morning upon awakening. We look forward to spending more vacations at the beautiful and relaxing Doctors Villa in the future ~ The Bailey Family
