Lime Acre is a little piece of heaven on earth...

4 of 5
My wife and I and three other couples spent five days and four nights at Lime Acre. The Luxury Retreats website accurately depicted the villa and it's proximity to the beach. Our experience at the villa was wonderful... The staff was accommodating and attentive. Tresha and Chef Winston made us feel like royalty. While at Lime Acre, we truly were able to "disconnect" from the outside world and be at peace. Our only negative memory of the trip will be the roads in Jamaica. They make any commute long and dangerous. As a consequence, it takes 1 1/2-2 hours to get back/forth to anything of significance from Lime Acre. (i.e. MBJ, Rick's Cafe, YS Falls, etc.). The only relatively close "attraction" is the Sandals Resort Whitehouse which is less than 15 min from the villa.

Our entire trip was like living in paradise for a week.

5 of 5
The home is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for our family of 4. Jamaica is also beautiful and wonderful. We had lots of day excursions. Negril is a drive to most typical tourist activities, but we didn't do anything further than 90 min drive and it was worth it. Many things in the house don't work exactly right, but the staff addresses things very rapidly, so not a problem at all. We had a wonderful driver employed for the week, which I would highly recommend as we went to at least the beach every day. Denzil was a perfect driver and the best staff person we had. Delkia, the chef/butler is also wonderful and a great cook, but she has a bit of an attitude. Annetta the assistant is wonderful.

Discover Treasure Beach and Hikaru

5 of 5
Hikaru is a vacation destination for the inner adventurer in all of us waiting to escape. Even though the option to swim in the pool or the ocean or just lie in the sun is ever-present, discovering the local color is a defining part of the stay. A boat ride up the Black River to see crocodiles or to jump off a jungle rope swing hanging down 30 feet in the air into that same river, playing dominoes with the locals at the corner bar in town, listening to ragae at Jake's, a fine dinner of Miss Vannessa's lobster salad, lunch at the Pelican Bar (right out of "Survivor"), it's all there for the taking. So much to discover.
