A wonderful Negril Christmas

5 of 5
Please read and confirm your review for Property #150015 below. Best Wishes, Reviews Team Our family of six adults gathered at the Villa for a week over the Christmas holidays. The location simply could not be beat. We spent a good part of every day swimming and snorkeling in the beautiful cove and along the rocky coastline all the way up past 3 Dives. Underwater was like being in a fish tank and the caves and rocks were full of things to explore. Early mornings were best before the wind kicked up. The ladder into the water made it easy to get in and out but my sons still insisted on jumping from the rocks occasionally! The plaza area was fabulous for daily sunbathing and evening cocktails for the sunset and stargazing. We ate dinner every night on the spacious veranda as well as catching a nap there occasionally. Although the interior furnishings are a bit worn the house was clean and equipped for our stay and once there, you realize that it fits well the Negril casual lifestyle. Besides I spent very little time inside the house. Beds were comfortable, there was plenty of water for showers, and towels and supplies. There is some noise and late parties in the neighborhood but only once did it get a bit out of hand (at 3 am) and Rodney (night security) took care of it for us. We cooked most of our meals at home with just a few trips to the Icon grocery or L&M convenience store down the street. We made a trip to the Negril Fish Market for lobster and snapper and Fabi helped to grill the fish outside. It is also a short walk to many of the local food spots, like Samsura (very nice but a bit pricey) or 3 Dives (do not miss the jerk chicken with bammy!), or DBar or Erica’s, and it is only a nice 15-25 minute walk to Rock House or to experience the craziness of Rick’s. Our rental car fell though so Fabi set us up with the greatest cab driver (Bobby) who ended up almost serving as our personal tour guide. He took us on trips to the market, YS Falls, Blue River, Beach, and even joined us for dinner at a few great local eateries (Cloggy’s in Blue River was amazing fish). Billy, the owner, was responsive and helpful in every way. We had a wonderful vacation and truly hated to leave.

Awesome stay at Point-of-View Villa!!!!

5 of 5
What an awesome week we had in sunny, wonderful Jamaica, and Point-of-View Villa did not disappoint!! It is truly a 'point-of-breath-taking-views'. My husband and a group of his closest friends celebrated his milestone birthday and staying at the villa made our total experience a fantastic one. Thank you Tom (owner) for all your great suggestions regarding staying at the villa and for being so available, patient and highly responsive to our many emails before arriving in JA. Your staff is incredible...friendly, gracious, trustworthy, and so caring. We hit it off with them all: Omar - a highly skilled, safe, dependable, knowledgeable and in every way professional driver, who patiently drove us to all places we visited, and took the time to wait; Roll - your house-manager and chef: what a wonderful cook - we enjoyed ALL his various dishes and his friendly personality; and Chuka who kept our rooms and the villa very clean. We cannot express all our "thank you's" enough. The gated community of private villas was a fantastic find off the beaten path. Some of our surprises were walking daily in the hills and finding Elaine's Mountainview Chatteau at the top of the hill for additional breathtaking views and great food and drinks. Sandals Whitehouse, just a few minutes away was also a good birthday dinner celebration venue...it made our evening unique and even more special. Thanks to Omar for driving us to do grocery shopping, the banks, Reggae SumFest, Bluefields beach, Negril, MOBAY, Dunns River Falls in Ocho Rios, and Whitehouse village. Thanks to Roll also for the additional (daily) grocery shopping he did for us. We wish you all the very best and plan on visiting again soon.

Discover Treasure Beach and Hikaru

5 of 5
Hikaru is a vacation destination for the inner adventurer in all of us waiting to escape. Even though the option to swim in the pool or the ocean or just lie in the sun is ever-present, discovering the local color is a defining part of the stay. A boat ride up the Black River to see crocodiles or to jump off a jungle rope swing hanging down 30 feet in the air into that same river, playing dominoes with the locals at the corner bar in town, listening to ragae at Jake's, a fine dinner of Miss Vannessa's lobster salad, lunch at the Pelican Bar (right out of "Survivor"), it's all there for the taking. So much to discover.
