It's hard to capture in words the pleasure of our stay at Yaso Villa in Montego Bay. It was conveniently located a short 20 minute drive from the airport. Yet it felt a world away from the hustle/bustle of downtown Montego Bay. The villa is in a pretty gated community and overlooks a gorgeous lagoon. Mornings and evenings spent on the private dock with a cool breeze and a view of the water is a wonderful way to start and end each day.
In the community there are two swimming pools and the villa provides passes to Sea Winds beach, a short 5 minute walk away. The beach at Sea Winds is pretty and well appointed with cabanas and a well maintained pool. Cocktails available.
Take the trips to Rose Hall and Glistening Waters...which is a spectacular natural phenomenon. Be sure to bring your swimsuit. You will want to jump in to get the full experience of the bio luminescent bay.
Without question, the best part of our stay was the staff at Yaso Villa. They made us feel special and well taken care of. Marcia is an exceptional cook. We never felt the need to go out to eat. She made excellent meals for us everyday. Make sure to try her local Jamaican cooking. Her jerk chicken, goat stew and chicken Fricassee were excellent. Even our picky eaters raved about her food. Marcia also helped us navigate some local activities. She knows her way around Montego Bay and was a great guide for us through the craft markets and downtown.
Jown kept the villa sparkling clean during our stay and made sure we always had clean towels for the beach. She even did our laundry, which was a great treat and very helpful. You can pack lightly and still always have clean clothes.
Vincent, the gardener and all around helper, was great. He helped us put the kayak in the water to take out into the lagoon (a nice thing to do everyday.)
And finally, Dennis. He is a driver who works with the villa and who is available to take guests on excursions, worry free. Dennis was very reliable and a nice guy too.
Yaso Villa is a great spot. With 5 bedrooms and 5 full baths it is an easy and lovely place to stay. It is clean (thanks to The staff), pretty and well appointed. You will want for nothing.
Marcia, Jown, Vincent and Dennis were wonderful and will guarantee that your visit to Jamaica is fun and memorable!
