Superb - how millionaires live

5 of 5
We had a wonderful stay in the Villa for 2 weeks in August 2014. There were 10 in our party and the villa + guest house accommodated us all with ease. The villa is very well thought out for the comfort of those staying, there is even a toilet close to the pool to save people having to go back to the main house. The sound system sound the pool area is another nice touch giving the feeling of a 5 star hotel. The views from the house overlooking the Tuscan hills are wonderful. Lying by the pool we had to pinch ourselves that the views were in fact real and not just painted scenery. The only slight down side was the pool water temperature. A few of our nights were quite chilly by Tuscan August standards and that led to the pool water temperature becoming quite cold. I would suggest turning up the water heating a little bit. Inside the Villa is very well furnished with many mod cons, but it still manages to maintain its rustic charm. The AC is great - better than many hotels I've stayed in and the showers/bathrooms are great. Having so many bathroom was a godsend for a party our size. Whilst the Villa was superb for us the icing on the cake were Annalisa the manager and Tereza the cook/cleaner. Annalisa was so helpful, nothing seemed too much bother. She has taken customer service to a very high standard. Tereza cooking was brilliant. We used her for a number of breakfasts and evening meals throughout the two weeks and were never disappointed. Her Tiramasu is to die for. Not only was the food superb but excellent value for money. We also loved her home made wine. This helped us no end as the nearby village of Strada seemed to be completely shut down over the August holiday period. I would thoroughly recommend this villa to anybody and sampling Tereza's cooking is a must.

Beautiful rustic haven in the Italian countryside.

5 of 5
Oh what a wonderful feeling to be in the middle of Umbria staying at a unique Italian farmhouse.... Podere Baiocco. Our family was met by Jacopo and Angela with the familiar Italian welcome. The views in all directions were spectacular. We had the welcome dinner prepared by Fabio and it was delicious. Jacopo was a welcome sight with his cheery Italian Buon Giorno, when he had breakfast ready for us daily. We had the cooking class done by Enis with the help of Angela and it couldn't have been more pleasant, followed by the pasta dinner that we had made and when we thought we were done Fabio brings out chicken and potatoes and then more......OH SO GOOD! We were in walking distance to Citta della Pieve , a quaint little town with many things to see and some really good restaurants....we went to Montalcino (wine tour), Siena, Pienza, Florence and then to Rome. Everything either a relatively short car ride or we used the train. The villa had a rustic flair and met all our needs. The humidity was high and without A/C the big screened windows were a lifesaver with the breeze flowing through. The gardens and pool were immaculate....nice to just sit, relax and read or just enjoy the view. Jacoopo couldn't have been more friendly and helpful with any of our needs or questions. He was readily available and diligent in keeping the property perfect. If we get to make a return trip to Italy we hope it will bring us back to Podere Baiocco.

A Magical stay...

5 of 5
From the moment we walked through the door our time at this amazing villa was magical. I went with a group of 14 family and friends ranging in ages from late 20s to late 50s. Our villa was even more beautiful than you can imagine. Although the pictures are beautiful, it is even more breathtaking in person. The rooms were very comfortable, clean, and spacious. Spending time relaxing at the pool and watching the sunsets was just wonderful. Jacopo was extremely kind and helpful with every question we had. He made us feel like family and set the tone for such a positive experience. All of his staff were extremely friendly, especially Fabio! My family truly enjoyed all of the delicious dinners, wine, and laughter that was possible because of these spectacular hosts. The town is very close, and we traveled to Rome and Florence by train very easily. Jacopo and Fabio helped organize wine tours, massages, and gave us excellent dining and shopping suggestions. We were so pleased with gorgeous villa and warm, friendly atmosphere that there were actually tears when we had to leave. I would suggest this to anyone traveling in a group to Italy. Thank you so very much Jacopo and Fabio for truly making our trip so magical... The great memories we have from staying at this villa will always bring a smile to our faces!
