Amazing!!!

5 of 5
A group of friends and I stayed recently, and wow talk about first class. We had a delicious home cooked dinner when we first arrived, breakfast every morning, and a final night dinner. Jacopo and Fabio were always available to answer any questions and arrange transportation for us, and an awesome wine tour. The villa was of course gorgeous as you can see, a view from every window. The grocery store was a short walk away along with a very nice cafe next door. Very cozy :)

Perfection!!

5 of 5
Staying at this Villa for 7 days was the ending of our travels through Europe for the month. What a beautiful and relaxing way to wrap up our holiday. I chose this Villa based on the consistency of the 5 star reviews. I have never seen that level of consistent high ratings before so I was prepared for less than 5 star experience, however, I was so wrong. I was pleasantly surprised to find that all reviews were spot on!! The villa was immaculate upon arrival and exactly as advertised on the website. The property is very pretty and quiet, just as shown in the photos on this site. We took many walks to the small town of Citta della Pieve where we enjoyed friendly warm and welcoming individuals, excellent meals, and of course Gelato. This town is a charming quintessential small Italian town. In the evenings it comes alive with people who obviously know each other and fill the streets with laughter. You are enveloped in the feeling of a small art community with deep roots and historic tales to tell. Jacopo has his own line of wine and olive oil from his property which we imbibed and enjoyed nightly…. He leaves wine and olive oil in the Villa and operates on the "honor system". We commented nightly how amazed we were comparing his 8 Euro bottle of wine to our $30 wine bottle purchases in the states. Such a treat! Another review commented on lack of music options and I second that comment. Maybe Jacopo would consider adding a music option to the Villa. There is a lovely simplicity to the grounds. Every morning the pool and grounds are cleaned so you arise to a fresh sparkling environment each day. And while Jacopo is on site every day to attend to these enhancements, he is ultra-respectful of your privacy - most of the time he comes and goes without you being aware of his presence. The Villa is tranquil and quiet at night and in the early morning. We slept with windows open every night and rested to the subtle sounds of crickets and light breezes through the valley. The main views from the house offer only olive groves and Umbrian hillsides. There is a resident fox who visited us each evening as we enjoyed the outside dining area. We were shocked at the fox’s comfort in our company. Spending a week in an Italian Villa has been on my bucket list for years. This Villa met every detail of my imagined experience when I created my bucket list.

A truly beatiful place!!!

5 of 5
Words cannot describe how much we enjoyed our stay at Casa del Poggio. Roberto and Marina thank you for all the gracious hospitality, a well supplied and stocked house and a genuinely beautiful home in an incredible setting. The villa was absolutely clean, so comfortable and had every detail imaginable. Barbara was a pleasure to deal with, was extremely helpful with her great advice, dinner reservations , warm welcome and lovely send off ! We visited Siena, Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Cortona, San Gimignano, Volterra and love coming back to pool, wine and terrace after long days of touring. The walk to San Gusmè for lunch was idyllic with magnificent views across the Tuscan countryside. Make sure to eat at la Porta del Chianti and call Patrick S. who is the best tour guide for whatever you need. Wish we could have stayed a bit longher can't wait to come back soon. Pat C., USA
