Even in autumn, beautiful Taormina can be very busy, so the peace and quiet offered by our accommodation were thoroughly enjoyed. Although only a short walk from the bustle of the village, with its great restaurants and shops, the loft and it's surrounds were like an oasis. The loft is spacious, comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. I'm devoting a whole page in our photo book to the view from the balcony at different times of day and in different weather. The wine and lovely bowl of fruit were much appreciated, as were Alessandro's recommendations about restaurants and attractions in the area, especially the walk to Castelmola, with its magnificent views of Etna and the coast. The twisty roads through quaint local villages were fun to drive and the beach down at Isola Bella was lovely on a warm day. The Greek theatre is simply stunning, set against a magnificent coastal backdrop. Do make sure that you depart from the Main Street of Taormina and explore the side streets and their shops, restaurants and the local market. The local opera production was also a treat. Would thoroughly recommend both the loft and Taormina to anyone travelling around Sicily.
