FANTASTIC!

5 of 5
We spent a week in this apartment and it was a truly wonderful stay! Un appartamento tipica siciliano!!! The location is perfect! Quiet, with the most fabulous terrace overlooking the sea and the waterfront passagio, just about a half block from Piazza Duomo. The apartment is very comfortable and well equipped. Stafano and Claudio were good hosts. Claudio drove us to the bus station at the end of our stay. You pass through a hallway of the lower apartment to reach the terrace apartment, but after a couple of times it feels natural. There are two flights of stairs then about 12 stairs from the lower apartment to the terrace apartment. We are an older couple and the stairs were not a problem for us. We met and shared some nice moments with the couple staying in the lower apartment. It was truly fantastic! Thanks to Stefano and Claudio.

Lovely and Relaxing Property

5 of 5
We rented 4 cottages at this lovely property for 3 nights in the middle of April 2015. Unfortunately I looked at my contract the night before departing the USA, and I had inadvertently reserved dates in May! Totally my fault. I hurriedly sent emails to Michela an Fabrizio, who quickly responded that they did have 4 cottages available on the dates I wanted! Disaster averted! We were warmly welcomed by Vincenzo (I think this was his name). All of the cottages were charming, comfortable and clean, with private bathrooms in each one. There is a swimming pool, and the grounds of the property are very pleasant, and parking is free. They have a washing machine, fully-stocked kitchen and lovely dining room and terrace available for their customers, which we used each day. There is a shopping mall and very large grocery store within 5 minutes. We drove a short distance to Ortigia and Noto, which we recommend. One couple in our group had their initial flight cancelled, and didn't arrive in Siracusa until 2:30 in the morning! They were unable to find the property at this hour, so Vincenzo told them to go to the shopping center, where he met them in the middle of the night and brought them back to the property! Vincenzo and his wife were wonderful to all of us, and they made our stay extremely enjoyable and memorable. We all felt like we were staying with family.

Wonderful location and ambience

5 of 5
We loved every minute of our time at Villa Neiride. We did a lot of touring in Rome and were happy to have time to relax in Aranella and see the local sites at a more relaxed pace. Villa Neiride was a wonderful sanctuary. We were met by Maria (who lives nearby in Siracusa) and Fabrizio and Michaela, who came from Rome to greet us. The location was stunning - a quiet summertime resort community just outside of Siracusa but easy 20 minute bus ride. Short drive to Noto (we attended the Infiorata festival), and 30 min to Catania, where you can enjoy a number of local villages, wine/honey/olive oil tasting and Mt Etna. Mostly, we enjoyed days at the beach (and yes, we swam!), visits to Siracusa and Ortygia, daily drop-ins at the local Aranella market for fresh bread, cappucino and gelato(!), and the tranquility of the property...even the doves! Picking fresh lemon for our meals was a bonus! The Siracusa Beach resort does a prix-fix menu with cassata - the local sweet made from ricotta cheese (a little too sweet for my tooth). There is not much locally except the beach so this is really more for a retreat from Siracusa/Ortygia but close enough to enjoy. No ATMs or grocery within walking distance (except the market for bread, milk, wine and gelato). Bus stop is near the beach a few blocks. Thank you again also to Maria, who is a gem. Very much recommend Villa Neiride.
