We stayed in this property for one week in May 2011 and would do so again in an moment!
We were a family with 2 parents, two small children (9 and 5) and a grandma. From the moment we arrived at the Piano de Sorrento train station to the moment we left to the airport, the owner made sure we were fully satisfied at all times. And we were!
The location is fantastic: a very short walk through cobblestone streets and high stone walls and you are at the fresh-painted white door of Rio house. The rooms are spacious and located in a wonderful home area with a secure closed courtyard where children could play, while we adults sat outside smelling the flowering plants. All the appliances and facilities were new and clean. The owner was always available if we needed something and was able to help out while allowing us privacy.
The owner personally guided us to the local grocery stores and bakery, introduced us to his friends, and helped us when we asked for assistance in planning our daily trips to Capri, Pompeii, and Venesuis.
While Sorrento is more famous, we found the town of Piano de Sorrento to be a more pleasant village to stay in. Sorrento is where you go to get touristic experiences. Piano de Sorrento is where you go to get the authentic Italian coastal village experience, with friendly people, charming cobblestone streets, and a more relaxed atmosphere. Try the bakery's famous donuts! And all this staying equally close the sights as staying in Sorrento! We saw all the major sights on day trips with ease.
Stay here! You won't find a better place on the Amalfi coast! We've traveled all over Europe and the world as a family and for friendliness of the owner, this place was without a doubt the best!
