Recent Rome & Lazio Reviews

Astounding location. Perfect family apartment.

5 of 5
This place is just remarkable. Spotlessly clean, and you could have a magical visit and never get in a vehicle of any kind. We are a family of 4. The children are 15 and 13 - boy and girl. They each got their own bedroom - that alone would make it worth it. It's more than spacious enough and the furnishings are of very high quality. My son has recently had knee surgery so the lift was a big help. The kitchen is very well equipped and there is plenty of natural light. All the bedrooms are big with lots of storage. It was easy to keep it uncluttered. The bathroom is surprisingly big and hot water was never ending. But as terrific as the apartment is, the location is the key attraction. Every morning we'd walk directly across the street for a cappuccino and cornetto. Then there isn't a single important part of Rome you can't walk to. We even walked back from a magical bike ride on Via Appia Antica to the apartment by way of the Colosseum. It was not a long walk. Maybe 45 minutes? And there is a wine store/bar that is again, 20 meters from the front door. Actually, you have to have a glass of wine, stand on the steps of the store and enjoy a Roman night with the locals at least one night. There is nothing, nothing that you can't find within 200 meters. Pharmacy, cleaners, food shops, incredible restaurants, a fun bar (Captain Cosmo), jewelry maker, art galleries (many), Segway rental, scooter rental, and a farmer's market outside your door on Sundays. We spent six nights. I don't like to go anywhere twice but we'll be back to Rome. And there is absolutely no reason to stay anywhere else. Luigi was great, always available and he's found a great limo service from the airport. Mr Luis and company are pro's. You are a 10 minute walk from: piazza's Navonne, St Peters, the Pantheon, St. Eustache (oh God, the coffee...), Campo de Fiori, the Tiber, Castle St Angelo, many dozens of restaurants, many dozens of galleries, museums (we saw a wonderful Escher exhibit). Whatever you do, get lost. Just wander and enjoy and be grateful you aren't going back to a hotel.

Higly recommended in every way!

I was very happy with firstly the location of the apartment,as it was in a residential area very well served by many shops and bus lines and merely 3 bloks away from the Metro Underground service. Literally a 15 minute metro ride to theSpanish steps and 10 minutes to the vatican museum. The apartment was comfortable being that you were out sight seen most of the day, it was great to return and have the comforts of home there with you such as the washing machine, comfortable beds tv and rain shower! The kitchen was also well equipped with a super market right opposite if wou did not want to eat out . The terrace is gorgeous and due to some sunny days we were able to enjoy it even though it was winter. The owner David was wonderful and provided full details on how to use facilities in the apartment together with a list on how to reach places of interest from the apartment. Moreover David was extremely helpful with providing a map of the main sights and details on how to get there :we have saved a lot of time and fully enjoy every minute of our stay. I would definitely recommend this apartment and would stay here again if I get the chance.

An excellent apartment with beautiful terrace

5 of 5
My daughter and I just got back from Italy and stayed at this very comfortable apartment and were impressed with the wrap around private terrace, views of the mountains and the dome of St. Peter. We spent many evenings enjoying the peaceful views. This apartment is well appointed. The owner is very accomodating and the driver he arranged to pick us up at the airport was on time and knowledgeable of the area. The landlord's mother brought us milk, juices (the red orange juice is great!), breads, pastries, etc. every day. Antique furnishings, crystal chandeliers, and the modern kitchen with a full size refrigerator were all appreciated. The wi-fi is very high speed. It is about a 10-15 minute walk to the Vatican and is out of the hussle bustle tourist traffic. The building is extremely secure and located in a wonderful, quiet area. The Pizzeria Candido restaurant is just a 5 minute walk and is not to be missed. There are also other authentic Italian restaurants near by that are very good. We had a very comfortable stay. We wouldn't think of staying any where else when visiting in the future.
