CLASSY, COMFORTABLE & AFFORDABLE

5 of 5
We stayed in this apartment for 5 days / 4 nights. The owner was kind enough to arrange airport pick up for us (for an additional small fee). The apartment was light, airy, cool and comfortable. I booked the apartment for 5 people total, and with 2 bedrooms with nice beds and a comfortable pull out bed, we all slept well. The apartment was clean, well maintianed and had nice ammenities. It was great having 2 bathrooms with 5 of us getting ready in the morning. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, dishes and utensils to cook. There were also some basics like olive oil, salt, pasta, etc on hand. There were 3 grocery stores within walking distance as well as a nice fish market and some great fruit and vegetable shops (which were more afforadable than the grocery stores). There were some cafes and bars around, but if you want to eat out I would suggest staying in the city center. The metro is about a 10 min walk from the apartment, which might be a little long for some. For us, it was worth the walk to be outside of the hustle and bustle of the heart of the city and in an actual neighborhood. It was nice and quiet here. The jetted tub was nice after a long day of walking all over the city. The owner was prompt and did a great job responding to all our questions. My only suggestion would be a book or binder with information about the area and maps for guests. Thanks for such a nice stay!

HISTORY BEAUTY AND MORE

5 of 5
Villa Accetta was a magical setting and provided for a perfect get away. Walking through the gates of the villa you are welcomed by a charming courtyard and awesome views across the Gulf of Gaeta. The villa is built on Roman ruins and incorporates some of the ancient artifacts into it's construction. The scale of time surrounds you. Our stay was in apartment studio No. 4. It was cozy, clean and provided for all of our needs. We also had the pleasure of visiting most of the other apartments, all of which were very impressive. The villa location proved to be very convenient, providing walking access to restaurants, groceries, and bus stops for travel to nearby cities and the train station in Formia. The villa's host was friendly, informative and accommodating. I would recommend a stay at Villa Accetta to family and friends.

A GEM

5 of 5
Chris and Meg Phillips have named their beautiful home in Casperia "Il Sogno" ("The Dream") and indeed it is a dream location. This dream begins when you leave your car in the very convenient and free car park and start walking up the winding cobbled paths of this medieval fortress town on your way to the apartment. When you recognize the wooden door of the apartment from the pictures you will know that you have arrived. Rosella will open the door for you for the first time and walking through it you step back in time into an authentic decor that will leave you breathless (the steps will also have contributed somewhat to your lack of breath...). The apartment is beautifully restored and offers all the modern conveniences you would expect. The kitchen is so well equipped that you tend to forget that you are away from home and the apartment is stocked with books and maps of the area and of Rome. The very helpful information book prepared by the owners covers everything you need to know with regard to the apartment itself, hiking in the area, shops, restaurants, trains and even Rome. As for the Sabina, this is my first, and definitely not my last visit. As opposed to the much advertised Tuscany, the Sabina seems much less frequented by tourists ( a good thing!), the hills are beautiful, and the people very friendly. We spent 10 days at Il Sogno, went twice to Rome (40 minutes by train) and took a day trip to Southern Tuscany, not to mention the hikes we took in the proximity of Casperia and a bit further toward the Abbruzzo. We had a lovely vacation.
