As Good As It Gets!!!

5 of 5
I absolutely love this place! I recently went with a group of friends for a very special birthday. We were there for two weeks and I will definitely go back again. Here is some basic information........ Jacopo, the owner, totally takes care of you from the time you begin thinking about booking your trip until the time when you are driving away in tears because you don't want to leave. The villa looks even better than the photos show. Do at least one of the dinners because they just make you happy. We combined a pasta making class with a sit down dinner, perfect..... It is a very easy walk into town so you can saunter in and have an espresso or gelato then saunter back. The town is so cute and not touristy at all. It is centrally located so you can wander everywhere for day trips. We went to Sienna, Florence, two wine regions, Orvieto, etc and never felt like we spent the day driving. Don't want to go anywhere???? Then lay out by the pool and look over the valley and thank the universe again for letting you find this amazing place. Like I said..... I loved it here!!

Beautiful Tuscan Getaway!

5 of 5
Need an incredible place to relax and unwind? This is it! My wife and I stayed here in the middle of a northern Italy vacation. After a fast paced week in Rome (with a short stop in Siena), we stopped here to get our energy back before heading to Florence and Venice. We arrived tired and late, made our way to the third floor of our suite, and fell asleep immediately. Elevated above the landscape, we awoke at sunrise to an awe-inspiring view: a light fog dusting the rolling hills of Tuscan vineyards and olive groves. Within an hour, the fog was gone and we set out to explore the grounds. The rooms themselves are beautifully furnished with high end finishings. Our bathroom had an open shower, tub for two, and dual sinks. The beds are comfortable and the first floor of our suite had a kitchenette. The main kitchen area has a dual sided fireplace where you can warm your feet at the end of the day with a glass of wine in hand. While the rooms are nice, there is plenty of property to roam here, so get out of your room and enjoy it. If sunrise was awe-inspiring, sunset from the top of one of the rolling hills is equally breath-taking. We drove a golf cart down a dirt road through the forest and past the lake. We stopped at the river, hopped out, walked up a hill to the east, faced west, and let the sun warm our faces while we soaked in the view. The best part of staying here was how remote it feels while still being accessible. We came in from Siena (45 minute drive/15 minute drive to Asciano with a train ride). We went to the Archabbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore (10 minutes east) for the free tour, but they aren't open in the early afternoon, so we just walked the grounds. Instead, we drove over to the village of Buonconvento (10 minutes west) to pick up some fresh groceries (steak florentine, wine, bread, cheese, olive oil, etc.). On Saturday, there was a farmer's market style setup in one of the parking lots. We shopped through that and also stopped by the local markets. In short, I would absolutely recommend staying here. My wife and I still talk about our short time in Tuscany as the best part of our long vacation. There's so much to see and do in northern Italy (and we did most of it), but I think it's worth remembering the Italian phrase "il dolce far niente." Whether you're looking for a long relaxing Tuscan vacation or a short break between sightseeing cities, this is where you can experience "the sweetness of doing nothing."

Perfection!!

5 of 5
Staying at this Villa for 7 days was the ending of our travels through Europe for the month. What a beautiful and relaxing way to wrap up our holiday. I chose this Villa based on the consistency of the 5 star reviews. I have never seen that level of consistent high ratings before so I was prepared for less than 5 star experience, however, I was so wrong. I was pleasantly surprised to find that all reviews were spot on!! The villa was immaculate upon arrival and exactly as advertised on the website. The property is very pretty and quiet, just as shown in the photos on this site. We took many walks to the small town of Citta della Pieve where we enjoyed friendly warm and welcoming individuals, excellent meals, and of course Gelato. This town is a charming quintessential small Italian town. In the evenings it comes alive with people who obviously know each other and fill the streets with laughter. You are enveloped in the feeling of a small art community with deep roots and historic tales to tell. Jacopo has his own line of wine and olive oil from his property which we imbibed and enjoyed nightly…. He leaves wine and olive oil in the Villa and operates on the "honor system". We commented nightly how amazed we were comparing his 8 Euro bottle of wine to our $30 wine bottle purchases in the states. Such a treat! Another review commented on lack of music options and I second that comment. Maybe Jacopo would consider adding a music option to the Villa. There is a lovely simplicity to the grounds. Every morning the pool and grounds are cleaned so you arise to a fresh sparkling environment each day. And while Jacopo is on site every day to attend to these enhancements, he is ultra-respectful of your privacy - most of the time he comes and goes without you being aware of his presence. The Villa is tranquil and quiet at night and in the early morning. We slept with windows open every night and rested to the subtle sounds of crickets and light breezes through the valley. The main views from the house offer only olive groves and Umbrian hillsides. There is a resident fox who visited us each evening as we enjoyed the outside dining area. We were shocked at the fox’s comfort in our company. Spending a week in an Italian Villa has been on my bucket list for years. This Villa met every detail of my imagined experience when I created my bucket list.
