6 AMERICANS LOVED OUR WEEK IN YOUR HOUSE!

5 of 5
We are writing this review on our last night in your beautiful house. We have finished eating our meal of fresh salad and pasta 'al fresco' on the patio, and have digested our meal taking a walk up and down the hills surrounding the house. The hills and vineyards around the house are beautiful - the scenery is prettier than the pictures on your website. We enjoyed a wonderful wine tasting just at the top of the road (wonderful woman who was happy to speak English), and enjoyed driving through the hills to the various towns. NOTE: I would recommend having a GPS in your car! The house is wonderful - large, comfortable, quiet and good sleeping. Internet works well and is fairly consistent. The kitchen is well supplied, and we prepared and enjoyed many meals. The TV even has a few English speaking channels. The house is not located in a city/town- but in the farming vineyards, so be prepared to drive 30 minutes to get to most 'major' Piedmont destinations.

VERY NICE HOUSE WITH SPECTACULAR VIEW

4 of 5
Lovely house and wonderful surroundings. A bit hard to get the car down to the house but we managed. The house was very clean and tidy, one of the neighbors who welcomed us and gave us the key got to be such a help with finding restaurants and doing true italian things. We some minor problems with the house but everything was solved during our stay and Gunilla always helped us when we called, or Karen & Dave. We didn´t know that it would be quite as far to restaurants and places to visit when we got there. You can walk up to Palmoli but it´s very steep and you walk mostly in the forrest. The surroundings was just wonderful and when you wake up in the morning and look out at the valley you just loose your breath. Vasto was a really nice town where we went quite a few times. There is also an absolutely amazing fish restaurant between Montefalcone and Montemitro. You just HAVE to go there the food is awesome. We had never learned so much about Italy and the surroundings is it hadn´t been for the truly wonderful neighbors K & D. The house was really nice and the pool was useful in the sunny days. We stayed for 4 weeks so we really got to test the house and we have made some suggestions to Gunilla but in all we had a marvelous time!

A MOST MEMORABLE WEEK

5 of 5
My family of four, including my two adult daughters, spent a glorious week at this beautiful villa. We were also joined by my sister-in-law and 2 others for some wonderful family time. The villa was clean, had everything we needed and was so relaxing after spending a bustling 10 days touring Paris and Rome. The location was ideal for exploring Umbria and using it as a base to explore the area.It was difficult to tear ourselves away from this gorgeous, peaceful setting, to do several day trips in the area. Sue has gone out of her way to share tons of information on the surrounding areas, day trips she recommends, along with restaurant recommendations all put together in a fantastic book, complete with maps, as well. The biggest problem we had, was deciding what to see in the week we were there. Interspersing that with relaxing at the villa at the beautiful pool, with book in hand and listening to the church bells ring out in Monteleone, was priceless. We arranged for Alessandro, a local chef and restaurant owner in the area, to come to the villa to give us Italian cooking lessons. He brought everything needed to create the most delicious meals, complete with wine and dessert. He is a wonderful chef, teacher and overall the most personable soul ever. By the end of the second night, it was like he was part of our family.....I wanted to marry him off to one of my daughters!! We will cherish the memories made during this fantastic week at Podere Vigliano and hope to return sometime in the future:) Thanks for everything Sue!!
