My family of four, including my two adult daughters, spent a glorious week at this beautiful villa. We were also joined by my sister-in-law and 2 others for some wonderful family time. The villa was clean, had everything we needed and was so relaxing after spending a bustling 10 days touring Paris and Rome. The location was ideal for exploring Umbria and using it as a base to explore the area.It was difficult to tear ourselves away from this gorgeous, peaceful setting, to do several day trips in the area. Sue has gone out of her way to share tons of information on the surrounding areas, day trips she recommends, along with restaurant recommendations all put together in a fantastic book, complete with maps, as well. The biggest problem we had, was deciding what to see in the week we were there. Interspersing that with relaxing at the villa at the beautiful pool, with book in hand and listening to the church bells ring out in Monteleone, was priceless. We arranged for Alessandro, a local chef and restaurant owner in the area, to come to the villa to give us Italian cooking lessons. He brought everything needed to create the most delicious meals, complete with wine and dessert. He is a wonderful chef, teacher and overall the most personable soul ever. By the end of the second night, it was like he was part of our family.....I wanted to marry him off to one of my daughters!!
We will cherish the memories made during this fantastic week at Podere Vigliano and hope to return sometime in the future:)
Thanks for everything Sue!!
