Large, comfortable apartment, well located

5 of 5
We just returned from 2 weeks in this apartment. It is as advertised, clean and well maintained. My husband and I are in our 70's and needed a place with an elevator. There are a only a few steps up from the front door to the elevator. The rooms are large, the beds were quite comfortable. You don't need to pack as much because there is a clothes washer. The WiFi worked just fine. We did not do any major cooking in the kitchen. The street the apartment is on is not a major through street but there is some traffic noise if the windows are open, and some noise in the back from the courtyard, as there would be in any city. We closed the windows at night. We slept fine. We had some problems with the washer and the owner was very prompt and helpful. We also took advantage of the car service to and from the airport. I felt that the neighborhood was safe and frequently walked around by myself. We were easily able to walk to the Vatican Museum entrance, to St. Peter's, to the Ottaviano Metro, and I was able to walk along the Tiber to Castel Sant' Angel' & to Trastevere. There is a fantastic restaurant around the corner: Giacomelli, on Via Emilia Faa di Bruno, a very good deli nearby, and a wonderful bakery on your right as you walk to the metro, down a flight of stairs that seems always open and crowded. The Trionfale covered market is about three blocks away. It is a farmers' market on steroids. Buy a good street map of Rome and enjoy yourself. In this section of Rome, the sidewalks are not packed with tourists rushing everywhere. I hope to go back some day and spend at least a month.

Great Location With a Lovely Terrace

5 of 5
My sister and I rented this apartment for one week. It was quiet, clean, and airy, just a short distance away from the steps leading up to the Vatican museum in a lovely neighborhood with wonderful dining and shopping (including a fantastic little bakery on Via Barletta called Dolce Maniera). We slept like rocks in our comfortable beds, and the bathrooms were nicely appointed (although the showers were a bit tight on space). All of the appliances were relatively new and worked just fine, and the layout of the apartment suited our needs very nicely when we opted to eat in. The kitchen is a bit short on cooking utensils, but nothing we weren't able to work around. Both the owner and the manager were prompt, professional, and pleasant---no complaints on customer service at all. If we were to choose the pièce de résistance of the apartment, though, it would have to be the terrace. That is where we spent every morning and every evening (when it wasn't raining), we loved it so much there. It was our retreat after a hot day of Coliseum and chiesa crawling! All in all, I would stay in this apartment again in a heartbeat and would gladly recommend it to others. Thank you for making our stay in Rome so enjoyable!
