I stayed at the villa as a guest of the owners last summer. It is truly a fabulous place, secluded yet close to Lucca and the other main cities in Tuscany which I was visiting at the time. The gardens are wonderful and the villa itself is truly unique. It is furnished with a lot of beautiful antiques and the centuries-old frescoes in the main hall are unlike any other I've seen. My favourite spots in the house are probably the old basement lined with wine barrels and olive jars, and the summer kitchen. I'll also remember with great fondness our candle-lit dinners under the trees.
