Recent Piana di Lucca Reviews

This home is beautiful and comfortable.

5 of 5
this property has two separate buildings with a swimming pool in between. They are situated high on a hill outside of Lucca. The home is in beautiful condition. The kitchens are well equipped. The deck is magnificent for outdoor dining and relaxing with comfortable outdoor furniture. Situated amidst olive orchards with peaceful views of surrounding hills it is hard to leave for excursions to Lucca and nearby towns. But each trip was worth it. We especially enjoyed the Puccini performances that occur every night of the year in Lucca. The property manager is fantastic in taking care of every little thing. The owners provide a very nice guide to local restaurants and sites we found useful. This is luxury but slightly adventurous living and is heartily recommended for reasonably agile travelers. We will return.

Incredible Hospitality

5 of 5
This is the 3rd time we stayed at this property over the years. It is owned and run lovingly by a local family. The property is peaceful, spotlessly clean, and well-maintained. Owners were extremely hospitable and caring. With horse and sheep in the backyard, grapes and olive trees, you have the feel of a farm, but with the city of Lucca only 15 minutes away, as well the coast and Florence not too far away for day-trips. Owners were just a phone call away and they visited property to clean pool etc., but were never in the way. At check-in we were met by the Owner and given instructions on the house. There was also a box in the Living Area with local maps, attractions, and itineraries. We like to shop at the local markets and cook and the kitchen was well-equipped, including an interior wood-burning pizza oven, multiple types of coffee makers, a full-size refrigerator and a backup one. There is a huge Dining Room table as well as a large dining area outside. I highly recommend this home, for any size group. This time we were 2 families, with a total of 4 adults, and 5 teenager/young adults. The pool area is fully fenced off for small children, and we stayed here when our children were younger as well. There is also a large grassy area in the backyard to play soccer, and 2 mountain bikes. With our 9 total there was plenty of space to spread out. We could have easily accommodated the 15 beds if need with privacy for all. We have rented other properties in Italy and I give this property an Outstanding grade. In summary, I didn't want to leave!

Absolutely LOVED our stay

5 of 5
We came to Casa Mennone with a group of friends and family, all together there were 11 adults. We had the most amazing time! The house was beautiful! It could have easily accommodated a party nearly twice our size. We made use of the large dining table, the covered terrace, and the hot tub EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. We used the pizza oven 2 nights, grilled out once, and actually had the local cook, Rosanna come in two nights. SHE WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! In addition, our hosts, Loretta and Giuseppe, and their grown children, Elisa and Mario, made our stay truly outstanding. When we were completely lost, Loretta came to meet us and lead us where we needed to go... twice! We also got to visit Elisa's organic farm next door, which was a great experience. Lucca, which is an easy drive, was one of our favorite places. We also made easy day trips to Florence, and even to a small town near Cortona. All in all, we cannot wait to go back. Until then, I will be missing it every day! If you want to visit Tuscany, you must stay here!
