            Perfectly lovely!

            5 of 5
We stayed in Casa Lagovista and had family/friends staying in Lagovista Loft during the May/June time frame and had a wonderful time. The apartment is very nicely appointed and very comfortable. Far better than staying in a hotel, inn or b&b. Easy train trips from nearby Chiusi to Florence and Rome and we couldn't wait to get back to the peace, quiet and enjoyment of Pacciano and Casa Lagovista. Lovely views of Lake Trasimeno from the balcony and it is a great experience to stay in the village. We were fortunate to participate in a village dinner, which was a fund raiser for the village's participation in the Vatican flower art festival (Infiorata), and loved meeting the locals, as well as very interesting expats, and, needless to say, the food was spectacular. Great location for fun and easy day trips by car to many lovely hill towns. Paciano has two very nice restaurants (L'Oca Bruciata was a favorite, lovely family staff) and the bar just a few doors down from the apartment is perfect for morning croissants/expresso and evening prosecco). A very special, easy and enjoyable way to experience the Umbria/Tuscany area and we would highly recommend Casa Lagovista. Kerry and Cordell have developed a real jewel and have really thought of everything to make the trip fun, comfortable and easy (including plenty of electric outlet converters!). Those who visit are very fortunate to have the opportunity and should thoroughly enjoy. This would definitely be our choice for another Italian hill country adventure headquarters!

            Paciano, Home away from home!

            5 of 5
My husband Brian and I had an amazing opportunity to spend our honeymoon in the beautiful country of Italy and we had such an unforgettable time! First, we started off with a few days in Venice then we hopped in our little Fiat Panda rental for a 4 hour road trip to the lovely city of Paciano, Umbria. Paciano was by far our favorite place to stay. It is surrounded with countryside full of rolling hills with vineyards and olive groves, as well as fields of sunflowers and poppies. We spent 10 marvelous days in this quiet, cute walled city which was so fun to walk around and explore, as well as living among the locals with no touristy distractions. When we first arrived we were greeted by a english speaking neighbor who helped us get settled in to our lovely vacation rental and was available to us if ever we needed anything or had questions. The rental is upstairs, has 2 cute bedrooms, 1 with 2 twin beds, and 1 with a large bed. There is also an upstairs loft area, 1 bathroom, a spacious living room with pull out couch bed, cute little dinning area, and lovely views of the city streets. It felt like home away from home - relaxing, safe and a place you love being. On days when we weren't off on an adventure, we loved opening the windows and listening to the quiet, the singing of the locals or enjoying the daily life within this town. We were also able to do laundry, cook at home, watch some movies and play games. The property was clean and well taken care of by the owner/property managers and we would definitely recommend staying here to all of our friends, family and acquaintances wanting to enjoy an Italian vacation . There is a bar/cafe, a little grocery, a butcher, pharmacy and a few restaurants within the walls, and the people are very friendly. One of our favorite things about this place is how central it is to many surrounding cities/attractions that we wanted to visit such as Panicale, Lake Trasimeno, Castiglione del Lago, Assisi, Sienna, Montopulchiano, Pienza, and Orvieto. They were all very easy to get to, and they vary from 5 - 20 minutes drive. Others took a little longer such as Florence, where we took an hour/hour and a half train ride for a lovely day trip. Paciano also had events within and around the city. We enjoyed a blues/jazz concert in the Piazza one evening. Another night we learned of fireworks/festival right down the road! Our last 3 days we spent in Rome (a 4 hr drive) but we missed Paciano! We hope to go back one day!

            Delightful Holiday in Umbria

            5 of 5
On first arriving at Il Giardino and stepping out of the car, all I could think of was “Wow, what a view!” The entire time that we stayed at the villa, I was constantly going to a window to look out over the countryside. The view is just as spectacular at night with the lights shining from nearby towns like Montepulciano, Castiglione del Lago and Cortona on the other side of the lake. The house itself has all of the amenities we wanted for our holiday. We especially enjoyed the modern kitchen, which was unexpected in such an old house. The house has clearly been renovated at a high level and blends the old traditional architecture with contemporary furnishings. It was a pleasure to work with the owner, Jennifer, who was happy to answer all of our questions and provide information about things to do in the area. The small library of guidebooks and phrase books at the house were very helpful as was the house book that Jennifer created that provides information not just about the house but about when shops are open, when and where local markets are held, and other useful advice. We also enjoyed several of the nearby restaurants serving typical local dishes that she recommended. In all, the house is in a great location to just relax or to visit the many nearby sights. We wished we had more time to spend in the area and to enjoy the excellent food (particularly the wild boar at Ristorante Il Casale just down the road). We will definitely return and recommend the house to all.
