The Perfect Place in Vico Equenxe

4 of 5
What a lovely surprise it was to arrive at our beautiful villa in Vico Equense. The photos don't do it justice. The house proportions are very generous which wonderful veiws from the balcony and bedrooms. The 2 bathrooms made it really convenient for our little part. The garden, full of scented Amalfi lemons and other colourful flowers simply adds to the magic. Inside the decoration is italian rustic which I think adds to the charm. Off street parking and the quiet location can't be exalted enough for the busy Amalfi coast area. Guiseppe, our host left the most wonderful basket of goodies to get our trip started which truly exeeded our expectations. In my opinion it is Vico Equense is the perfect place to stay for exploring the Sorrentine and Amalfi coasts. Its so close to all the sights and if you don't want to drive the local train station will take you to Sorrento in 10 minutes, Pompeii or Heraculeum in 30 minutes etc. Vico is less touristy than other towns in the area which we really loved. Try out the pizza by the metre restaurant if you get a chance, the pizza is great but they have a whole lot more to offer. Would definately recommend a drive from Vico up to the mountains for some spectacular scenery and views. A wonderful trip all around and the perfect place to stay.

Italian Modern Architecture Made Sorrento So Comfortable

4 of 5
We have always rented or stayed in renovated historical houses. This our first very modern architectural home with many modern conveniences. All bedrooms had great bathrooms (though the master bedroom double bath nearly took all the hot water to fill). All of our guests had great privacy as well as fantastic gathering places, whether kitchen, living room (2) or several outdoor deck areas with great views of the gulf and town. Loved our afternoon walks up to Hotel President for apps and rose--hotel has a great vista of Sorrentine gulf. Loved cooking in the kitchen and eating in and out, lounging in the comfortable conversational areas both inside and out. We and our guests wish the fireplace and hot tub would have been operational, but seems the owner already knew they were not. Plans to replace hot tub sometime in the future. No comment on use of fireplace. Very easy to get around in off-season in Sorrento and surrounding area. Convenient to town, Capri, Positano. etc.
