A FIRST-CLASS VILLA IN THE HILLS OF TUSCANY

5 of 5
Our family just returned to the U.S. after a three-week stay at Villa Segale. We had hoped for a trip of a lifetime, and Villa Segale helped deliver that trip in all respects. Our family of eleven, ranging in ages from 6 to 69, thoroughly enjoyed the recently-restored villa, the surrounding acreage of vineyards/olive and fruit trees, the pool, and the magnificent view of Lucca and Pisa. The villa interior was tastefully decorated while retaining some of the 11th-century farmhouse charm, and was certainly large enough to accommodate our family. We used the villa as a "base' from which family members could travel by auto or train to Venice, Florence, Rome and other parts of Italy, and that worked out extremely well. Family members said they looked forward to returning to the villa for rest and relaxation before continuing to explore Italy. The villa description, as provided, was accurate in all respects, and the property was very well maintained. Marco, the owner, and Michela, the villa manager, were very helpful with any questions we had about our travels, restaurants in the area, chefs available to come to the villa, etc. We would definitely recommend Villa Segale to our friends and family, and we certainly hope to return someday soon! Ciao, Ronnie

FABULOUS VACATION!

5 of 5
La Sughera is everything we wanted it to be. Traveling with our friends, two other couples: one from Latvia, one from UK, we're Americans, we found that all our expectations for spending two weeks in Italy were met. The villa was lovely, decorated in an international country house style. The interior was soothing, not fussy and there are plenty of places to stretch out and relax without being on top of each other. The kitchen is amply supplied with all the dishes, cutlery and utensils you could ever need, but most importantly, for those who want a respite from the kitchen, the gracious Vanda, will prepare typical Tuscan fare which will have you swooning under the glorious dining terrace. But the best part is the pool and it's gorgeous vistas and the absolutely perfect pool furniture...no need to ever move; we all felt like we were in a movie set. Every day we planned an outing, and everyday we decided to stay and just enjoy the beauty of the views, from porches, balconies and dining areas, and the lovely pool. We finally made some visits to Lucca ( historic ) , Pietrasanta ( artsy ) and Forte di Marmi ( ritzy ) and we were glad we did. Each town was incredibly different and easily done as a day trip: we loaded up on yummy foods, bought great shoes and fell in love with some unique sculpture; just a bit too heavy to fit in our luggage. I highly recommend this perfect villa as a lovely place to tailor your perfect vacation to your desires.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED OUR STAY

5 of 5
We came to Casa Mennone with a group of friends and family, all together there were 11 adults. We had the most amazing time! The house was beautiful! It could have easily accommodated a party nearly twice our size. We made use of the large dining table, the covered terrace, and the hot tub EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. We used the pizza oven 2 nights, grilled out once, and actually had the local cook, Rosanna come in two nights. SHE WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! In addition, our hosts, Loretta and Giuseppe, and their grown children, Elisa and Mario, made our stay truly outstanding. When we were completely lost, Loretta came to meet us and lead us where we needed to go... twice! We also got to visit Elisa's organic farm next door, which was a great experience. Lucca, which is an easy drive, was one of our favorite places. We also made easy day trips to Florence, and even to a small town near Cortona. All in all, we cannot wait to go back. Until then, I will be missing it every day! If you want to visit Tuscany, you must stay here!
