LIKE A DREAM!

5 of 5
From beginning to end Anna and Massimo were both full of vital information.Though I called and emailed several times, they never made me feel as though I was a bother. Getting to the property was very easy. We just took the ferry and it got us to the island in just under an hour. Then took a taxi to house. ($24 Euro.) Massimo met us there and we got there early and he welcomed us with open arms. Sometimes when you come to a property early, the owners will insist on a 4pm check in. Massimo was very friendly which was a wonderful way to start off our Ischian vacation. He then spent the better part of an hour going over all the little things about the house including the fabulous house book with all the owners recommendations for the spas and restaurants and local grocery stores. The property itself is something between a luxury villa and a gorgeous guest house.Calling it an apartment is an understatement by my standards. The house had everything!!! And I mean everything. We didn't even have to do the initial shopping for the basics when we arrived. The house was already stocked with milk, orange juice, Olive oil, sugar, flour, onions, lemons and even Masssimo's homemade limoncello. We had dinner and breakfast everyday on the terrace that over looks a giant Spanish castle. There is nothing to get in the way of this view. My husband and I were so amazed by the view that every time we walked past the living room or bedroom window we would jump back in shock and jest and say stupidly, "There's a castle in the window!!" We did that for a couple of days but seriously, the surprise never wore off. It was always beautiful and overwhelming. The water was unbelievable crystal clear and blue and just 100 meters away. We went swimming in it and it was wonderful. The house is a perfect distance from town and country. You could spend the whole day out exploring the island and then come back to serenity and paradise and a view that has no equal. We did not arrive with a car or rent a scooter. We walked everywhere. Don't hesitate to rent this house. It was spotless and has everything one would need. My husband and I plan on coming back every year. Every detail has been thought of. Thank you Anna and Massimo for sharing this amazing home. A special thanks to Anna and for answering all my questions and Massimo for taking so much time with us while we checked in. We have traveled all over the world and this by far is our favorite romantic spot. Sue and Tim Horner

GREAT LOCATION WITH A GREAT VIEW

5 of 5
Casa Mattera is centrally located between Ischia Porto and Ischia Ponte and is a 2 minute walk away from the beach. The rental was clean, well kept, and had a "million dollar view" from the patio that looked out onto the sea. The fully equipped kitchen also really came in handy since I tend to get restaurant fatigue when traveling. Sometimes I simply prefer to go to the local grocery store and whip up a casual lunch to eat and enjoy on the patio. I definitely recommend this rental for anyone looking to stay on Ischia.

BEAUTIFUL VACATION RENTAL IN A LOVELY SETTING

5 of 5
This lovely little house has all of the character of the quintessential Italian farmhouse but with all the amenities we expect in our modern world. And in such a beautiful setting! The layout and furnishings were charming yet elegant, and the house was equipped with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The house is currently just right for two couples. But as we understand from our host, Gianni, it will soon be able to accommodate additional travelers. This will only multiply the number of guests who could stay together and enjoy this rustic and engaging setting by the sea. Our host, Gianni, was more than helpful and accommodating as we planned our trip to the island of Ischia. Since we were visiting from the U.S., it was especially helpful that he spoke English and could help out with transportation, scooter rental (this is the way to really see the island of Ischia) and advice on the local sights. This might not be a location for folks with young children, but we completely enjoyed the house as we hiked and watched visitors sunning on the rocks below. Especially memorable about staying at Villa Punto Caruso were the stunning sunsets and the men who gathered daily to play Bacchic ball up near the road to the house. You will need a scooter or car to go to and from the house. But all the better-- so you can bring home some (fabulous) local wine, cook dinner with fresh produce from the markets in Forio, and simply sit back and enjoy your luck in finding this charming little house on Ischia.
