Unforgettable week

5 of 5
The apartment is located in the heart of the village. Every evening in the square near the house concerts, so you can listen to music directly from the apartment balcony. It is impossible to describe the beauty of the picture, which opens from the Windows of the apartment. The sea, the beautiful beach, the promenade and, of course, a beautiful seaside houses. The apartment itself is comfortable, large, comfortable. It has everything you need for staying. Special gratitude to the owners Gianny and Gianluca.

Exceptional

5 of 5
My wife and I spent the final week of our honeymoon in Fanghetto. It was October, cool and quiet. The village was completely empty except for a handful, about five, local residents, which made the setting perfect for us. The home Richard has built is beautiful. The view overlooks the Roya river, and distant, mountain perched villages. Marisa's, a small convenience store located at the turn-off to the village, makes fantastic espresso based drinks. Menton, Ventimiglia and Breil are close, and have great restaurants/markets. Regarding day trips, everything, spanning from Provence through Imperia/Liguria is accessible. As Richard recommends in his guide to the region, making day trips and returning to either local meals in Airole or homemade is the best way to maximize the experience. The trattoria in Fanghetto was getting fixed up during our stay, so we missed out on that, but I spoke with the owner and it seems like that is a very nice experience as well. Anyhow, Fanghetto is a great experience. Richard's home is a perfect setting to relax and enjoy a peaceful vacation and a beautiful region.

Abounds with charm and comfort!

5 of 5
What a joy to find this wonderful apartment and stay there for 5 days. The owner is SO helpful -- gave perfect directions to the apartment, the town and things to do in the area. The listing is quite accurate -- there are beds for 6 in three separate areas with two large well-equipped bathrooms (rare in Italy). The kitchen area is small but quite adequate (espresso machine!) and there is an extra refrigerator in the living room area for keeping drinks cold. (The living room also had two futons which could sleep 2-4 more people if needed). We enjoyed eating in both the dining area and out on the terrace/roof. The living room was very comfortable for watching TV and playing games as a family -- we really liked that. You need a car and also good legs for walking up from the town's parking area to the apartment. There is a little grocery and a bar in town, but you'll want to do your major shopping in Oneglia, about 3 km down the narrow road into town. From here we went to Porto Maurizio (a wonderful restaurant recommended by the owner, Oneglia, Alassio, Andora (lovely sandy beach, no crowds), Albenga and all sorts of other small towns. A terrific vacation based in a GREAT apartment -- everything you need is there and style abounds! Highly, highly recommended.
