WISH I COULD GIVE 10 STARS!

Staying at this beautiful apartment was definitely a highlight of our trip. It was amazing! Jack and Leonardo were extremely helpful from first inquiry contact through checkout. They could not have been any nicer or more accommodating. It was a pleasure to meet Leonardo in person upon arrival after having emailed questions and plans. He was very friendly, spoke perfect English, and provided all of the necessary information we needed for a very pleasant stay. He also arranged for a taxi to take us to the train when we were leaving. (Be sure to check out the coffee table book that shows Leonardo's master woodworking skills.) We were especially grateful that we were allowed to have a late checkout (at no extra charge) because no one was arriving the day we were leaving. This enabled us to pack more activities into our time and not worry about where to store luggage. We thought that was most gracious of Jack and Leonardo. The apartment is exactly as described and shown in the photos. It is absolutely beautiful, immaculate, and well-equipped. And HUGE! There is a long (90 foot) hall, off of which are all the rooms - living room, dining room and study on one side; kitchen, bedroom/bath, bedroom/sitting room/bath (suite) on the other side; master bedroom/bath at the end. When we arrived, my husband asked which door was ours, not realizing ALL of the rooms made up the apartment! It is gorgeous, as you can see from the photos. We loved hanging out in the big living room. The kitchen was fantastic. Very nice to have a clothes dryer. All top-end appliances. The bathrooms were great. My daughter enjoyed the jacuzzi tub. Lots of storage and hangers provided. No problem of any kind whatsoever. It was amazing to stay here - we felt like royalty! The location is nice. It's about a 15 minute walk to Ponte Vecchio or the Duomo. It was nice to get away from the crowds and have a quiet place for the evening. There is an excellent supermarket - Esselunca - about 1/2 mile down Via Pisano (away from town) - easy walk - just stay on same side of street as the apartment to make it easier to cross at the traffic circle by the market. Do NOT go to Trattoria Sabatino - we tried it because it was the closest - just through the gate - but it was awful food and service. Should have gone to the couple of places that were indicated as favorites on the sheet in the helpful info binder. Completely recommend this apartment with absolutely no reservation whatsoever!

This place was amazing. We were only able to use wifi on our phones in Italy. When we got a cab at the airport we got the cab driver to call Barbara, the owner of the apartment. She met us a the apartment and helped us get our bags upstairs. In most European countries the first floor is actually the 2nd floor. The staircase is a narrow spiraling stairway. When we got upstairs we were greeted with a stunning modern room with 2 beds that doubled as couches, a dinning table for 4 , a 37" tv with cable, and a view of a small courtyard. The kitchen was small but efficient, with a 2 burner stove, sink, microwave and small refrigerator. The bathroom had a great shower with a rain head and enough room for a party. You went through the shower to get to the washer. The bed room was a queen sized bed on a platform. Very comfortable. We were there for three weeks, so we had plenty of bedding and towels for our stay. After showing us the place Barbara showed us the complimentary bottle of wine and how to use the facilities .She then went over some of the places to visit and some of the restaurants to choose. The SE-IO was one we were interested in so she made the reservations for us the following Friday. Another was Mama Ginas'. Both were within walking distance. There were also several Trattorias on the Arno that were great stops for lunch or appertifs. The local grocery store had a great selection of fresh pastas and cheeses, so we were able to cook several dinners at the apartment. This is the first time I've ever had a landlord spend this much time with us, This apartment is on the working side of the Arno. From the front of the apartment you can see the Duomo, the Uffuzzi , Santa Croce, and many others. We walked to all of the tour starting areas. We also walked to the train station to take the train to Lucca and other towns. The best gelato is just down the street across from the Pitti Palace. The grocery store is also just down the street next to the Pointe Veccio. We were also just below the Bardini Gardens and Boboli Gardens. There were many cafe's for cappucinno, and many gelato stores close by. Florence is not a handicap friendly town. the streets and sidewalks are cobblestone and rutty. Traffic is frantic. BUT THIS A CITY TO ENJOY. The history is fascinating and the people were friendly. My thanks to Barbara for making this celebration of our 50th anniversary so memorable.

Gorgeous apartment. Everything you could possibly need for a short or long term stay in Florence. Beautiful location on the river and overlooking the Ponte Vecchio. Allesandra was very helpful in assisting us with planning our trip. Could not have asked for a better place to stay. Thank you for sharing your beautiful apartment.
