Magnificent property. Unequaled location.

5 of 5
Although the photos on the website suggest the unique qualities of this palazzo, on our arrival we were still amazed by the 10 m. high central room (and the others) and the overall livability. The juxtaposition of modern art was also a plus. I've never encountered such an unusual, beautiful, well-stocked and clean property. No amenity was overlooked. Even previous knee replacements didn't deter some of the group from ascending the stone stairs to partake in a glass or two of wine on the rooftop terrace.Three of our group of six (we've studied Italian together for years) stayed here and the other three in an apartment recently bought and updated by two of them. As you might guess from the last sentence we needed no convincing to visit Trevi where all of us had been before. The owners, Rik and Bernadette had many suggestions as to what to do, where to eat, where to taste wine and olive oil. We went to most of them and added a few more. I would definitely stay here again.

Our week in Umbria was filled with amazing cities and hidden treasures

5 of 5
We spent the first week in Tuscany and it was gorgeous. Our second week in Umbria was equally as wonderful we visited 8 cities in 7 days. Large cities like Rome and Perugia and smaller hill towns like Todi, Orvieto, Assisi, Terni, Citta di Castello and Spoleto. Each place was better than the next. We enjoyed the Umbria region as much as Tuscany which was great. The villa was in a really great location, just outside of Todi so being centrally located to all these places was key.

Beautiful, Quaint Studio w. a Tuscan View

4 of 5
Barcolino is beautiful! The staff on the Estate is all very nice and extremely helpful. They even have a restaurant on the property where you can go to eat or order food for the next day. Just realize that this is a studio (all one room) and the kitchenette is SMALL. There is an induction stove with two burners, an oven, a mini fridge and a sink. Also, this is the guest house, so there is no path to wheel your suitcase down. You will be walking across the lawn. The pool and grill area is located up a hill at the main house. It's not far, but it's not right out in front either. It is very quiet and peaceful no matter where you are on the property and the view is spectacular!
