This is the Itallian villa you only dream about!

5 of 5
This was to be my wife's big 60th birthday celebration with our kids a husband and girlfriend respectively along with some dear friends, and it was! The directions from the airport were spot on and within 30 minutes of leaving the airport we were entering this magical property. The driveway leads you to his old stone farmhouse, completely renovated, situated on a hill overlooking a vast valley. There are olive trees, a lilly pond and red geraniums to greet you. The house was spotless when we arrived with a welcome basket. The house is comfortable with a state of the art kitchen and modern tiled high end bathrooms. The kitchen is stocked with all the appliances and utensils you would need for a great meal. The caretakers were so pleasent and were alway avaliable whenever needed. One evening they setup the grill for one of our meals. The charcoal briquettes would have been fine but they added wood chips for some extra flavor. The chicken was fantastic. The infiniti pool was situated with a perfect view of the valley. The villa is walking distance into the town of Starda where we purchased fresh bread, cheese and fruit each morning. Morover there is wonderfull ltitle restaurant there where we had a great meal one evening. My favorite moments were sipping coffee in the early morning while lookng out over the valley watching the early morning mists. As our kids said this was their best vacation, I have to agree it was mine.

Wish I could give 10 stars!

Staying at this beautiful apartment was definitely a highlight of our trip. It was amazing! Jack and Leonardo were extremely helpful from first inquiry contact through checkout. They could not have been any nicer or more accommodating. It was a pleasure to meet Leonardo in person upon arrival after having emailed questions and plans. He was very friendly, spoke perfect English, and provided all of the necessary information we needed for a very pleasant stay. He also arranged for a taxi to take us to the train when we were leaving. (Be sure to check out the coffee table book that shows Leonardo's master woodworking skills.) We were especially grateful that we were allowed to have a late checkout (at no extra charge) because no one was arriving the day we were leaving. This enabled us to pack more activities into our time and not worry about where to store luggage. We thought that was most gracious of Jack and Leonardo. The apartment is exactly as described and shown in the photos. It is absolutely beautiful, immaculate, and well-equipped. And HUGE! There is a long (90 foot) hall, off of which are all the rooms - living room, dining room and study on one side; kitchen, bedroom/bath, bedroom/sitting room/bath (suite) on the other side; master bedroom/bath at the end. When we arrived, my husband asked which door was ours, not realizing ALL of the rooms made up the apartment! It is gorgeous, as you can see from the photos. We loved hanging out in the big living room. The kitchen was fantastic. Very nice to have a clothes dryer. All top-end appliances. The bathrooms were great. My daughter enjoyed the jacuzzi tub. Lots of storage and hangers provided. No problem of any kind whatsoever. It was amazing to stay here - we felt like royalty! The location is nice. It's about a 15 minute walk to Ponte Vecchio or the Duomo. It was nice to get away from the crowds and have a quiet place for the evening. There is an excellent supermarket - Esselunca - about 1/2 mile down Via Pisano (away from town) - easy walk - just stay on same side of street as the apartment to make it easier to cross at the traffic circle by the market. Do NOT go to Trattoria Sabatino - we tried it because it was the closest - just through the gate - but it was awful food and service. Should have gone to the couple of places that were indicated as favorites on the sheet in the helpful info binder. Completely recommend this apartment with absolutely no reservation whatsoever!
