Le Argille is impeccably maintained and operated

5 of 5
For many years our dream has been to rent a villa in Tuscany and live the life we only hear about or see in movies. Renting this former monestary, Le Argille, in the small town of Strada in Chianti was everything and more of what I have always envisioned as a true Tuscan experience. Our group of ten people rented this magnificent villa and guest house in July 2014. Met by both the onsite caretaker and offsite property manager we were provided a complete tour of the property and history of the home. We enjoyed it all . . . the wood fired oven in which the caretaker and his wonderful wife prepared homemade pizzas, the amazing infinity pool and hot tub, multiple indoor and outdoor lounge areas for late night gatherings, 2 indoor and 1 outdoor fully furnished kitchen, and the impeccable rooms with no architectural details overlooked. The villa is close enough to town to walk if so desired. We easily drove to Sienna, San Gimignano, Montalcino and Florence on day trips. From the villa it is a short 20-30 minute drive into Florence, and conveniently located to several local vineyards and olive groves. There were no children in our group, but for those with children there is a mini soccer field and one of the most amazing tree houses I have ever seen. We were told that the installation of a full gym is in the works in the basement area overlooking the outdoor swimming pool. Le Argille produces its own wine as well as olive oil, of which we enjoyed both immensely. Its been 3 weeks since our departure from Le Argille and everyone in the group still talks about the incredible vacation at this most amazing villa in an absolutely beautiful piece of paradise. We are most definitely planning to return.

The Villa exceeded all of our expectations

5 of 5
Bottom line, this villa exceeded all of our expectations. The description was extremely accurate. And I can vouch that the villa has wifi internet. Our group consisted of 7 adults and all were extremely comfortable. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and allowed us to cook many meals easily. The bedrooms and bathrooms had sufficient bedding and towels. Exceptionally large pool towels were also provided. The property allows exceptional and breath taking views of the Figline Valdarno valley. We felt the property was perfectly located. We could reach the grocery store Co-op easily and downtown Figline within minutes. The express train to Florence was easy to catch from downtown Figline. We highly recommend this property. As the description states, it exceeded all of our expectations and I am confident you will not be disappointed.

Breathtaking and Memorable Week in Tuscany!

5 of 5
Our group of 7 couples (friends from college) recently concluded a magical week's stay at Podere le Rondini. Nicola, Allesandra, Paola, and their family welcomed us with open arms. After a delayed flight and long journey, we enjoyed our first meal and night together on the 2nd floor porch of Paola's residence. She had lovingly prepared a meal of antipasto, pasta"pici", skewers of pork, chicken, and outrageous sausages. All the while, the carafes of wonderful, red wine from their vineyard flowed. The meal was capped with a slice of her homemade cake and a shot of Lemoncello. The accomodations at Podere exceeded our expectations! The Capacie comfortably housed six couples while a seventh stayed in an apartment tucked behind Paola's villa. Lemon and olive trees with views of Montespertoli and beyond were our landscape. Day trips to Siena, Venice, Lucca, Florence, and the lovely hilltop town of Volterra were all reachable from our villa. Although we enjoyed our travels, the underrated, charming town of Montespertoli was a ten minute drive away. Markets, food, shopping, wonderful restaurants, and evening volleyball games were all available in this modest town. When we come again, we will likely choose to spend more time reading by the lovely (and large) pool and simply taking in our surroundings. To Nicola and Paola...how can we thank you enough for your constant patience and guidance and ALWAYS with a smile! Paola, we will never forget how you prepared a Sparkler cake for us on the 4th of July and how you danced with us to Frankie Valle and the Four Seasons!! You have not only been perfect hosts, but also, role models for how one should live life. We will never forget you and our time at your welcoming villa. We truly hope to return one day soon!!
