Spacious Apartment

4 of 5
My husband and I stayed at this spacious apartment for three nights. It would easily be suitable for four people. It is near the Colosseum and Forum. Gabriele met us at the apartment. I had communicated with him before our arrival that we would like to get a ride from Antonio from the train station. I gave an approximate time of our arrival, stating that I could not give a definite time since we didn't know how long it would take us to get out of the airport. I had written confirmation from Antonio that it was no problem, I was to call when we boarded the train and he would pick us up. Then I was informed that we would not be receiving a ride. It was a lot of miscommunication and very confusing. We ended up paying for a taxi; it would have been nice if we had been reimbursed since we had written confirmation (well in advance) that it wouldn't be a problem for Antonio to pick us up. The apartment was well furnished (except we had to buy toilet paper, not even enough provided for three days). The balcony does not have the lovely set-up as shown in the pictures. No table, no chairs. If I were to come back to Rome, I would probably choose a place on the other side of the Colosseum but if you are looking for a place in this area, this would be a good choice.

A quiet oasis in the heart of Rome

4 of 5
The apartment was perfect for our party of four adults. (A bit small for a bigger party) The location is perfect, the apartment very quiet and full of charm and character.. Needs a little TLC, but was clean and had all the amenities necessary to make our stay comfortable. Very nice experience.

Great Stay in Rome

5 of 5
This is a wonderful place to stay while in Rome. While on a busy street, so near to many things to see, the apartment is in the back of the building, so the only noise comes from neighbors, not the street. The apartment was exceptionally clean and the beds very comfortable. (Not always the case in Italy.) We were able to sleep well, not something that always happens in Rome (several locations where we have stayed in the past have been extremely noisy - it is a busy city...) The kitchen, while small, was extremely well equipped, complete with a dishwasher, another rarity in Rome! We were able to make ample dinner for five and serve it on real plates with real glasses. (We have stayed in places where the dishes are plastic.) The manager and owner were wonderful and met us on arrival to explain how everything worked and to make restaurant and bakery recommendations. They were extremely helpful. We were even given a bowl of fruit, drinks and slippers - a wonderful touch so we could rest our achy feet after a long day of sightseeing. While the neighborhood may not appear ideal, we never felt unsafe and we even sent our 17 & 14 year olds out alone to the store, several times, and nothing happened. We were all quite safe. I would definitely recommend this place and would even consider staying again myself. The only thing I could think of that may be a problem for some, we are not big people so was not for us, is the shower size. My husband is 6'0, 190 lbs and he was able to shower, but not much room to move. Again, we have had smaller in Rome. The wonderful thing about the shower was that it had plenty of hot water. We had four showers at night and one in the morning, and the hot water never ran out - another rarity in Rome. Again, I would definitely recommend this place and would stay again. Very clean, comfortable furniture, well maintained and close to two of our favorite Basilicas.
