room with a good view

5 of 5
We were met by Alberto at the apartment doorway which is on a cobbled small street which has a partial view of the Colosseum. The studio apartment is a hotel sized room looking across terra cotta rooftops to the impressive Vittorio Emanuele 2 monument. Alberto is a very kind gentleman and was extremely helpful and contactable during our stay. The apartment is very clean, bright, well furnished and we were very comfortable here. There are a large number of restaurants and bars close by. Our favourite coffee stop was at the Cavour end of the street where the waiters are very friendly and entertaining. The Colloseum area to me is not half as crowded and tourist saturated as the more central areas of Rome and suited us well. We were able to walk to most parts from here but we do enjoy travelling this way. Alberto kindly arranged a taxi for us when we departed and we would definitely stay here again when we return to this fantastic city. Many thanks for your hospitality Alberto. Steve and Gail, Australia.

Great Stay in Rome

5 of 5
This is a wonderful place to stay while in Rome. While on a busy street, so near to many things to see, the apartment is in the back of the building, so the only noise comes from neighbors, not the street. The apartment was exceptionally clean and the beds very comfortable. (Not always the case in Italy.) We were able to sleep well, not something that always happens in Rome (several locations where we have stayed in the past have been extremely noisy - it is a busy city...) The kitchen, while small, was extremely well equipped, complete with a dishwasher, another rarity in Rome! We were able to make ample dinner for five and serve it on real plates with real glasses. (We have stayed in places where the dishes are plastic.) The manager and owner were wonderful and met us on arrival to explain how everything worked and to make restaurant and bakery recommendations. They were extremely helpful. We were even given a bowl of fruit, drinks and slippers - a wonderful touch so we could rest our achy feet after a long day of sightseeing. While the neighborhood may not appear ideal, we never felt unsafe and we even sent our 17 & 14 year olds out alone to the store, several times, and nothing happened. We were all quite safe. I would definitely recommend this place and would even consider staying again myself. The only thing I could think of that may be a problem for some, we are not big people so was not for us, is the shower size. My husband is 6'0, 190 lbs and he was able to shower, but not much room to move. Again, we have had smaller in Rome. The wonderful thing about the shower was that it had plenty of hot water. We had four showers at night and one in the morning, and the hot water never ran out - another rarity in Rome. Again, I would definitely recommend this place and would stay again. Very clean, comfortable furniture, well maintained and close to two of our favorite Basilicas.

What a great place to stay in middle of Rome!

5 of 5
Our family had the opportunity to vacation in Rome the in July. We were fortunate enough that we "found" MokHouse and Marco. The accommodations were better than advertised, and Marco's attentative manner was above and beyond what we expected. His excellent English made communications very easy. His recommendations for sight seeing and restaurants were spot on as well. One cannot go wrong staying at the MokHouse!
