Beautiful perfectly located 2 bed apartment!

Wow, what an amazing little and very old town! Citta Della Pieve (CDP pronounced in English: "Chee Dee Pee"), is the kind of town you had no idea still existed, inhabited by real people, unspoiled by tourist busses and shops selling only trinkets and chocolate. There are stores that sell to locals, and tourists are welcome, but it is not a tourist town. But it LOOKs like one of the Disneyland "towns", as if Captain Jack Sparrow might turn the corner any moment and off you go on some new adventure! This apartment is spacious and comfy and puts you right in the old part of town. A few key things to catch in CDP: • Vicolo Baciadonne (Baciadonne Alley) - the narrowest street in Italy; • Flag throwing and flower art on the streets for “Infiorata”; • Amazing wafer thin pizzas at Perugino’s; • Art by Perugino (the artist, not the pizza guy); • Tiny twisty streets with flower pots hanging from 700-year old walls CDP is centrally located, and with a rental car (there is ample parking around town) we could use it as a home base. On our trip, we spent 12 days in CDP and managed day trips to: • Civita di Bagnoregio (perched on a rock outcrop, accessible only by a narrow bridge); • Assisi (St. Francis’ home town – be sure to lunch at La Bottega dei Sapori in the central piazza); • Lunch in Perugia and Brunellos (tasting, buying and shipping home) in Montalcino; • Spoleto (ancient fort, Roman ruins and aqueduct, amazing town) then dinner on the piazza in Montefalco; • Cortona for shopping and wine; • Overnight trip to Florence (two days of sights there); • Montepulciano and a deep Etruscan era wine cellar; • Siena for the Palio trial This is an amazing town, and this apartment is spacious and comfortable. Go!
