We enjoyed a week here in paradise, and held our wedding ceremony under the pretty, white pergola next to the villa. This villa has quite honestly, the best view that either we, our friends or family had ever seen. It looks like a painting, too incredible to be real. Secluded, peaceful and everything we needed. The 4 children were kept busy all week, it's wonderful for families. The interior decoration is a rather large slice of luxury. Every room was something from a glossy magazine! We hired a large Benz and struggled around the winding hilltops, so just get something smaller and practical, and forget the status. We easily visited San Gimignano (highly recommended),Florence (too crowded for small children),Castelfiorentino (go for a meal in the square)... even took the kids to a water park not too far away. Enzo & Cristina were kind and helpful, especially when the oven broke and when the water supply shut off unexpectedly! Our wedding guests stayed at the nearby Hotel Certaldo and were impressed by the villa's stunning location. Villa Belsole remains fondly in our hearts as the greatest family reunion and wedding location imaginable. The essential info: there are no mosquito nets, so come prepared fellow Englishmen or you will get eaten alive. Kiddies wear goggles in the pool, or they'll be red and blurry eyed all holiday. There are two large fridges (very sensible) and a supply of local, delicious wine for a small extra cost. (wonderful idea) Our 2 month old son was very comfortable in the cot provided and kept cool inside from the 30 degree heat, despite not using the air con. Look for the fireflies in the evenings, and the shy, stripy birds that make hilariously wild noises. The local supermarkets have everything you could possibly need (we even found a huge, white parasol to buy to keep the hired string quartet under shade!) The communication from Dario was accurate, friendly and especially accommodating to our wedding idea requests. Thank you.
