                                            Spacious, Comfortable Home in Rome

                                            5 of 5
Our family of 6 had a wonderful stay in this comfortable apartment with an absolutely unbeatable location! The children (ages 9, 7, 4 and 1.5) slept well despite the time change from North America. We had hugely successful excursions to the Colosseum, Forum and Ostia Antica, among other places. (A bus to the train station for Ostia departs from just across the Tiber.) Going out for dinner in Trastevere involved a romantic 5-minute crossing of the Ponte Sisto. Both of our guide books for "Rome with Kids" recommended the hotel just across the street as a great place for families with children to stay on account of the fabulous location. The apartment is owned and managed by a kind, responsive Roman family. Luigi, who handled our arrival and departure, went to elementary school just down the street. He was extremely helpful both on our arrival and departure. The building itself is secure and friendly. Artisanal gelato and an espresso bar with great coffee are steps away from the building's front door. There is a grocery store directly across the street. Hard to imagine more convenience. The apartment itself has all the amenities you need up to absolutely normal and expected European standards. No giant North American showers or appliances to be found, but we don't travel to Europe for the giant North American appliances! The bedrooms overlooking the rear courtyard are quiet. The one overlooking the street is noisier; we simply brought our white noise maker and our 18-month-old slept like a dream. (Amazing!) We dream of returning and have already recommended this rental to friends.

                                            4 of 5
The apartment is perfectly located close to various major sights and in a quaint neighborhood. Spacious and comfortable.

                                            Fantastic location

                                            4 of 5
I stayed at this Rome property in July 2014 with my wife and teen-age daughter. It was quite adequate for our needs and I would probably stay there again. It's located on a quiet, mostly car-less street populated by local residents, restaurants, and shops. It's very close to Navona square, and quite close to the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain (under reconstruction), St. Peter's Basilica, Spanish steps, and many other scenic and historical attractions. We walked to St. Peter's and the Pantheon every day! It's a long walk from the railway station but we only had to do that once, and I think a taxi or metro would take just as long as walking. There is a big bed in the bedroom and a fold-out sofa in the living room. There's a small kitchen area with a good refrigerator. The kitchen is not very well equipped, though we did use it to make instant coffee and toast. There's no dishwasher, and kitchen stuff was not clean -- perhaps put away, half-cleaned by other visitors. Wifi worked great. Air conditioner worked great. Plumbing was not well maintained. The shower had lots of mildew and the shower door leaked and flooded the bathroom. There was a distinct mildew smell especially in the bedroom that was difficult to completely forget. In general the place was not well designed, maintained, cleaned, or cared-for. There's a step in the hall / kitchen-area with black tile all around. Each of us tripped on that step a dozen times, though never fatally! The management offers a driver, Antonio, who drove us to the airport at the end of our stay. He was reasonable, reliable, on-time, safe, and communicative in making arrangements. The management and administration of this place did not communicate well -- I'm sure they thought I was high-maintenance. My initial query and scheduling was handled by Nicola. I sent my deposit to Nausi. And Iryna would handle my arrival, though I didn't get an email address for her yet. I made the reservation 9 months before my stay and when I tried to reconfirm my reservation a few weeks before my arrival, nobody responded until my third try -- this didn't leave a fuzzy feeling that everything would execute well! Eventually they sent me an email address for Iryna. Finally we arrived at the property on time and waited and waited -- it turned out that the property address that Nicola originally sent us 9 months previously was wrong -- Iryna was waiting at the correct place. Still we had a great time in Rome!
