Amazing Villa, Amazing town, Amazing visit!!

5 of 5
Vito and family are simply wonderful hosts. Upon our arrival, we were invited to partake in Vito's birthday party, with his family and friends, and enjoy Vito's home made pizzas! Just one more example of the warmth of Italy and its people that we experienced many times on our once in a lifetime journey! This villa is AMAZING!! Located just outside the edge of town, high upon the cliffs, the views are to die for. The property itself is beautiful, as mama and auntie spend time everyday tending the many plants and flowers! The pool is clean and well appreciated on warm days. We were a party of ten; two couples with three children each, ranging in age from 15 to 22. Vito and his mom made sure the rooms were set up so that we were all comfortable. The villa was clean and comfortable with everything we needed! I personally loved walking into town each day, taking the many steps and narrow, curving, interesting pathways that always led to a beautiful sight. My legs never looked better, which was good when we hit the beach in our suits! (I highly recommend the smaller beach and its restaurant) There are plenty of parking garages and cabs, if you prefer not to walk. Our kids wanted to see Pompeii, which was an easy car ride from the Villa with our GPS. Our entire group went to Capri via private boat from Positano, which was fabulous. Vito has all kinds of "insider" information, which only those who live in Positano can advise and he was happy to do so. We drove our rented vans to the villa with no safety issues. The kids did have trouble getting WI-FI, but I was happy for it, as they spent more time talking to each other and to be honest, we were on the go most of the time anyway. My only complaint is that we didn't get to spend more time here. Positano is positively breathtaking and Villa Punto Del Sole Positano was a wonderful "home" in which to enjoy it! I hope to return, someday. Thank you, Vito!! (sorry for the delay in my review!)

A First Class Accommodation

5 of 5
You need a car to get here. You travel through little picturesque villages up the mountain and arrive at a place of uncompromising beauty and luxury. I refer to the scenery, the people and the villa. Barbara, the owner, can not do enough to make you feel at home. She had left water in the fridge, beer in the fridge, jams and jellies in a basket, a cake on the table and one day she delivered us a bag of oranges from her own orchard. The Villa is spacious. We had the two person accommodation. There are also 4 person and 6 person. Amenities include gas stove, microwave, fridge and a fully equipped kitchen. The bedroom is separate and large. It has an armoir, two bedside tables, a flat screen TV, with satellite reception and free wifi. The bathroom is the third room and boasts a soaker tub, shower accessory, a bidet, a hair dryer and all matching ceramic detailing. There is also free laundry facilities, an iron and ironing board. Outside our rooms is a beautiful courtyard and beyond that a little Olive Garden and beside that is a newly constructed and never used barbecue. We used the villa as our launching pad to visit the surrounding area; Sorrento, the Amalfi coast, Pompeei, etc. We stayed 4 days and that was too short. You need at least a week and more. We were too busy and didn't get to enjoy relaxing in the sun at the Villa. It is heavenly. It is quality at an unbelievably reasonable price. Electricity is pay as you go, but you don't use much. It's warm and the stove is gas. You won't be disappointed....just stay longer, or you will be disappointed :) Colin and Berni from Alberta, Canada

Beautiful vacation rental in a lovely setting

5 of 5
This lovely little house has all of the character of the quintessential Italian farmhouse but with all the amenities we expect in our modern world. And in such a beautiful setting! The layout and furnishings were charming yet elegant, and the house was equipped with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The house is currently just right for two couples. But as we understand from our host, Gianni, it will soon be able to accommodate additional travelers. This will only multiply the number of guests who could stay together and enjoy this rustic and engaging setting by the sea. Our host, Gianni, was more than helpful and accommodating as we planned our trip to the island of Ischia. Since we were visiting from the U.S., it was especially helpful that he spoke English and could help out with transportation, scooter rental (this is the way to really see the island of Ischia) and advice on the local sights. This might not be a location for folks with young children, but we completely enjoyed the house as we hiked and watched visitors sunning on the rocks below. Especially memorable about staying at Villa Punto Caruso were the stunning sunsets and the men who gathered daily to play Bacchic ball up near the road to the house. You will need a scooter or car to go to and from the house. But all the better-- so you can bring home some (fabulous) local wine, cook dinner with fresh produce from the markets in Forio, and simply sit back and enjoy your luck in finding this charming little house on Ischia.
